Street Sense Wins Kentucky Derby

Street Sense has won the 133rd Kentucky Derby with an incredible stretch run in which he went from 19th place to first.

Street Sense won the 2006 Breeder's Cup Juvenile and was the favorite at 9-2. This is the 51st time that the betting favorite has won the Run for the Roses.

Trained by Carl Nafzger and ridden by jockey Calvin Borel, Street Sense had just two races as a 3-year-old before the Derby. He'll now be a prohibitive favorite to win the Preakness in two weeks, and he'll have a realistic shot of becoming the first horse to win the Triple Crown since Affirmed in 1978.
