Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis is behind Michael Vick 100%. He thinks this whole dog fighting thing has gotten entirely too much attention and that we all (fans and media alike) should mind our own business."I don't know if he was fighting dogs or not, but it's his property, it's his dog," Portis told WAVY-TV. "If that's what he wants to do, do it. I think people should mind their business."Portis later added that he knows "a lot of back roads that got the dog fight if you want to go see it" and that "if it's behind closed doors, it's okay."
...Right... I'm not really sure what Portis is thinking with these statements, but apparently he's as brilliant as Vick is for having any part of these alleged dog fights. The reality is that it's not okay, it's not legal and it's not even humane. It's sick, it's twisted and it's punishable by law.
If it's proven that Vick knew or had anything to do with those dog fights, he should most certainly face criminal prosecution as well as a suspension from the NFL. And if NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell had any sense at all, he'd have Clinton Portis on the phone informing him of a major fine that's coming his way for spouting off at the mouth like an idiot.

1. How soon til the Washington Redskins PR department says he was misquoted?.....Another Idiot....Unbelievable
Posted at 1:38PM on May 20th 2007 by Yeah I can do that
2. Both of the Vicks are subhuman. You know, I don't care if they smoke grass, but fighting dogs is WRONG, cruel and inhumane. All the bad karma they're accruing could result paralytic injuries for the Vicks and Portis this year. People who hurt animals and kids deserve pain and suffering.

5. The Redskins should take Portis back behind the woodshed and beat him to near death!, afterall, they own the rights to Portis and it's their stadium. Let's see if Clinton Portis still thinks people should mind their own business! F*%$ing idiot!

6. Here's a thought...Let's put steel collars attached to chains around the necks of both Vick and Portis. Starve them for a week or two, poke them with sticks and deny them sleep for any decent length of time. Put them in a ring and tell them to fight it out until only one is alive. That would solve at least one roster controversy...ya think?

7. OMG! That statement can't be real. As a Redskins fan, this really makes me upset that he would come out and say that. I hope to God that was misquoted and he was joking. Just because it's your home, doesn't make you the king of your territory.

8. Clinton Portis proclaiming Michael Vick's innocence..
Call off the investigation, boys, one paragon of virtue is judging another to be innocent....Case closed.

9. Sheriff Gonna Getcha would like to remind you that Clinton Portis is a very popular name in Virginia, and it surely wasnt him writing all those personal checks and posing for pictures soaked in dog blood. Pure Coincidence. Also, leave Mike Vick alone, he's innocent. dont investigate anything any further, please, Coach Janky Spanky begs of you.

10. As a Redskins fan, I am very dissapointed at Clinton Portis' comment. He is a loser who obviously has no heart. I agree with the previous comment about Karma and the one about having both of them tied up, malnourished, poked with a stick and then faught to the death.

11. I think Portis' dog lost and now he owes Vick some money. Millions of dollars can buy so much happiness and fun, yet these thugs like to watch dogs kill each other. Disgusting negroids. They're the ones that belong in cages.

15. I just watched that video that was posted as a link. All of you hopefully watched it. I am shocked and heartbroken at all of the comments made and I am also shocked when people say others can do what they want as long as it is behind closed doors. Children are molested behind closed doors. If I had a wish for justice and I do, I would wish that Portis is taken to Mississippi, forced to take every back road he knows of where fighting is going on, work with law enforcement and Humane Society for the rest of his life and kicked off the team. I find that so difficult to believe that anyone would be that inhumane in public speaking.

16. I think it should be a felony if someone like Portis or anyone knows where the dogs fights are going on and keeps it to himself. Anyone who has knowledge of such activities or is a spectator and doesn't come forth with that information should also be punished by law. Unfortunately most lawmakers are too busy taking their turns in court.

17. "Unfortunately most lawmakers are too busy taking their turns in court."
Not to mention the fact that your proposed law is unconstitutional.

18. Hey, Nunna yo buznezz
You claiming Vicks innocence is just as premature as everyone claiming his guilt. I agree, his connections haven't been proven, but what Portis did is just plain STUPID!! And as for cock fighting, I've never attended or known of any in my social circle. If I did, I would distance myself from the people and activity by reporting it because it is also a crime.
BUSH IS NOT MY BOY! The only reason he is in office is because people like Portis are too busy fighting dogs to take time to vote!

19. Portis thinks it is ok to break the law. Samuels just laughs along. These two guys need to be suspended. Young kids look up to athletes, and when an athlete says something is ok in one's own house then it sends a very bad message.
I don't know whether or not Vick was involved with dog fighting. If he was, on this large of a scale in particular, then he should face prosecution and be banned from the NFL for life. It is unacceptable. At a minimum, if he was not involved, he ought to immediately speak out against such law breaking on his own property.
Such law breaking is shameful and despicable, and such comments by Portis and Samuels is incomprehensible.

20. What an embarrassment to the NFL.
