1. Portland – How funny is this - the Blazers already have a roster full of centers. There's a legit decision to make here - you've got Aldridge and Randolph at the 4 and 5 ... and really, Kevin Durant makes a ton of sense at the three, where you have nobody. I think they'll take Durant or trade the pick.2. Seattle – Greg Oden. He'll look nice when paired with the bruising Chris Wilcox.
3. Atlanta – Do you pair the 3rd and 11th pick and anyone on your roster and try to grab the No. 1 pick from Portland? Yes. Assuming that doesn't happen, some people will say Mike Conley, but if you can find me a freshman point guard who arrived in the NBA and had an immediate impact, I'll let you get away with it. Be smart. Take UNC's Brandan Wright for the defense.
4. Memphis - Walking in Memphis? Crying in Memphis. And Jerry West is bolting in a month! Gotta keep Gasol now, and pairing him with Florida's Al Horford actually isn't terrible. Unless you had visions of Oden dancing in your head.
5. Boston – If Danny Ainge and Doc Rivers haven't taken their own lives by the time you read this, I guess they'll have to go out and grab a center like Roy Hibbert. Yes, Roy Hibbert is the pick.
6. Milwaukee – It's all about point guard Mo Williams. If Williams stays (I think he will), then I like Georgetown's Jeff Green to round out a solid frontline and improve the defense. If Williams goes, then the Bucks will have a Buckeye backcourt of Mike Conley and Michael Redd.
7. Minnesota – Yi Jianlian would normally make sense ... but KG wants a title, so look for the Wolves to scoop up someone more ready. Like Corey Brewer. How about that trio - Foye, Brewer and KG?
8. Charlotte – What to do with Gerald Wallace and Adam Morrison? Both play small forward, but with Julian Wright on the board, do you take him anyway? Joakim Noah doesn't seem like a good fit, and there isn't a shooting guard to take this high. Perhaps you trade the pick, but I think you take best on board and grab Wright. Then, you force Morrison to move his feet and shift to shooting guard.
9. Chicago – Here's a bit of a surprise: Spencer Hawes out of Washington. He's a big beefy body inside with darn good skills for a freshman. He's not the second coming of Bryant Reeves. Promise.
10. Sacramento – Joakim Noah is perfect here. He'll blend great with the energy in Arco, and help out Brad Miller on the frontline. Artest and Noah will be a menacing defense.
11. Atlanta – Hey, look! Mike Conley wasn't a good fit anywhere else, and he fell into their laps. Hawks fans will have to closely monitor what Mo Williams does in Milwaukee to ensure the addition of Conley.
12. Philadelphia – Sam Dalembert needs help up front ... but is Yi Jianlian ready? He may have to be. Philly is one of the toughest cities to play in, but he'll fit in their run-and-gun offense. Hopefully.
13. New Orleans – Peja's always hurt, and Desmond Mason will probably walk, so think about a scoring machine. Think Al Thornton from Florida State.
14. Los Angeles Clippers – With Cassell about to celebrate his 50th birthday, and Shaun Livingston's status for next year up in the air, Acie Law would be a great fit. But if you can deal Corey Maggette, then what about local stud Nick Young? I think Law is the smart decision.

Blazers take Durant? No way...you're wrong, the Blazers do not have a roster full of centers; they have one (Przybilla) signed for next year, and he'll ultimately make a great verteran back-up for Oden. Instead, look for the Blazers to get very aggressive in trading Randolph for a quality small forward to start next to Oden and Aldridge.

How soon we forget last year's No. 1 pick - LaMarcus Aldridge. And his PF buddy, Zach Randolph, Mr. $80 million, Mr. 23-10.
Those two are set. They don't have a small forward. Durant's the guy. Unless there's a trade, but I haven't heard a legit one yet.

Charlotte needs to move down and take Al Thornton or have Brewer fall in their lap. They need a guy that can create his own points in a bad way.

How about the Blazers draft Oden, trade Randolph for another lottery pick...for the purposes of drafting Oden's teammate Conley.
Starting lineup:
PG: Conley
SG: Roy
SF: Webster
PF: Aldridge
C: Oden

HELL NO!!!! I don't give a damn if Portland already has Pryzbilla, LaFrentz, Randolph and Aldridge. They MUST draft Oden. Houston had a franchise center when they used the #1 pick in the 1983 draft of Ralph Sampson ... yet they drafted Olajawon with the #1 pick in the 1984 draft. Which one turned out better? Portland already had Clyde Drexler in 1984 ... so that's why they drafted Sam Bowie instead of Michael Jordan.
If you are getting the #1 pick in the draft ... draft the #1 player regardless of position.

Portland Trailblazers NBA Champs 2010 - you heard it here first. Portland will take Oden (anybody who says differently obviously doesn't live in Oregon). Once we select Oden and pick up a proven vet, the trophy will come back to the great NW - Mt. St Helens and all.

I like Durant, but think he has a little too much Nowitzki in him. Oden is the number one pick - has anyone heard from Bill Simmons in the last few hours? Should someone go check on the Sports Gal?

The Blazers will finally deal Randolph and develop a team that can jump higher than Zach's concrete shoes, especially given that Rashard Lewis was last seen in a full embrace with his NBA-dad, Nate McMillan after the buzzer of the last game of the season. Zebo can double/double all he wants while losing games and hanging out in strip clubs in Seattle. It's got to be Oden, Oden, Oden with the first pick. Durant is college-slick, plenty fast, but too light to make a difference yet in the pros. Nice for first half dunks, but not so much for the last five minutes in the big leagues. At last I can say it again, RIP CITY, GO BLAZERS!!!!

tee hee, portland made what is historically the most famous (and worst) decision to draft based on need. they're in that boat again this year. however, i don't think durant is a bad choice. sure, oden is a franchise center, but durant actually has more potential, in my opinion. and plus, can you really blame portland for the pick? who knew that jordan would be what he was?
at least we know the lottery wasn't fixed. boston was left out in the cold while two apathetic markets scored big. although i think portland's apathy is only temporary--they seem to be on the right track, and they used to be good fans.

Anyone who thinks Greg Oden is gonna make a huge impact immediately is sorely mistaken.....give the guy 2-3 years and he should be giving Portland(because that's where he's going) a very good chance at a deep playoff run. Sorry Portland fans, but teams like Phoenix, Dallas, Utah and San Antonio aren't going anywhere for quite awhile and even with the addition of Oden.....it's gonna be tough for Portland to knock some of those teams off their perch.

There's no way the Blazers choose Durant.
They'll trade Randolph for a good SF and we'll conted for the title for years to come.

The blazers take Oden, no doubt about it. He will immediately make up for Z-bo's lack of defense. LaMarcus and Pryzbilla are awesome backups that will keep the frontline strong. We don't need a strong scoring SF.
My lineup for my favorite team.
Jack/Sergio/Dickau
Roy/Jones/Webster
Udoka/resigned Outlaw
Z-bo/LaMarcus/ LaFrentz
Oden/Pryzbilla
Im throwing Dr. Darius/Mr.Miles out the window like the rest of blazer nation already has. If the blazers do make a trade its going to be for a veteran point guard like Antonio Daniels or Andre Miller.
Its a going to be a good decade to be a blazer fan, jump on the bandwagon now boys
