NBA Mock Draft: Portland Will Take Kevin Durant

1. Portland – How funny is this - the Blazers already have a roster full of centers. There's a legit decision to make here - you've got Aldridge and Randolph at the 4 and 5 ... and really, Kevin Durant makes a ton of sense at the three, where you have nobody. I think they'll take Durant or trade the pick.

2. Seattle – Greg Oden. He'll look nice when paired with the bruising Chris Wilcox.

3. Atlanta – Do you pair the 3rd and 11th pick and anyone on your roster and try to grab the No. 1 pick from Portland? Yes. Assuming that doesn't happen, some people will say Mike Conley, but if you can find me a freshman point guard who arrived in the NBA and had an immediate impact, I'll let you get away with it. Be smart. Take UNC's Brandan Wright for the defense.

4. Memphis - Walking in Memphis? Crying in Memphis. And Jerry West is bolting in a month! Gotta keep Gasol now, and pairing him with Florida's Al Horford actually isn't terrible. Unless you had visions of Oden dancing in your head.

5. Boston – If Danny Ainge and Doc Rivers haven't taken their own lives by the time you read this, I guess they'll have to go out and grab a center like Roy Hibbert. Yes, Roy Hibbert is the pick.

6. Milwaukee – It's all about point guard Mo Williams. If Williams stays (I think he will), then I like Georgetown's Jeff Green to round out a solid frontline and improve the defense. If Williams goes, then the Bucks will have a Buckeye backcourt of Mike Conley and Michael Redd.

7. Minnesota – Yi Jianlian would normally make sense ... but KG wants a title, so look for the Wolves to scoop up someone more ready. Like Corey Brewer. How about that trio - Foye, Brewer and KG?

8. Charlotte – What to do with Gerald Wallace and Adam Morrison? Both play small forward, but with Julian Wright on the board, do you take him anyway? Joakim Noah doesn't seem like a good fit, and there isn't a shooting guard to take this high. Perhaps you trade the pick, but I think you take best on board and grab Wright. Then, you force Morrison to move his feet and shift to shooting guard.

9. Chicago – Here's a bit of a surprise: Spencer Hawes out of Washington. He's a big beefy body inside with darn good skills for a freshman. He's not the second coming of Bryant Reeves. Promise.

10. Sacramento – Joakim Noah is perfect here. He'll blend great with the energy in Arco, and help out Brad Miller on the frontline. Artest and Noah will be a menacing defense.

11. Atlanta – Hey, look! Mike Conley wasn't a good fit anywhere else, and he fell into their laps. Hawks fans will have to closely monitor what Mo Williams does in Milwaukee to ensure the addition of Conley.

12. Philadelphia
– Sam Dalembert needs help up front ... but is Yi Jianlian ready? He may have to be. Philly is one of the toughest cities to play in, but he'll fit in their run-and-gun offense. Hopefully.

13. New Orleans – Peja's always hurt, and Desmond Mason will probably walk, so think about a scoring machine. Think Al Thornton from Florida State.

14. Los Angeles Clippers
– With Cassell about to celebrate his 50th birthday, and Shaun Livingston's status for next year up in the air, Acie Law would be a great fit. But if you can deal Corey Maggette, then what about local stud Nick Young? I think Law is the smart decision.
