In a season filled with strangeness -- the wildly unpopular new ball crapping out, the old ball making a triumphant return, LeBron refusing to try, the Dallas thing, etc. -- perhaps nothing was weirder than the story of Bonzi Wells. He not only failed to show up for a game in Seattle, but he reportedly told the team that he wouldn't be available that night via a text message to the team's athletic trainer. Shortly thereafter, he was kicked off the squad for the remainder of the season. With a new coach in town (someone who coached Wells in Sacramento), Bonzi is hoping for a second chance with the Houston Rockets.
"I thought it was like God sent him here for me. Rick Adelman is a great coach," Wells said. "He's the best coach I have ever had. He really knows how to relate to his players. He does a great job of letting guys be themselves."While I hope that the talented, yet troubled Wells finds a spot in the League somewhere, I have a hard time picturing him in a Rocket uniform again. Teammates aren't very receptive to the idea of welcoming back a guy who walked out on them just before the Playoffs began.
"I have a decision to make and so do they. I wanted to be here even if Jeff Van Gundy was going to be here," Wells said.

Bonzi is a trouble maker, always has been and always will be. He is not worth the trouble.

I know Bonzi has had issues but he is a valuable talent that Houston desperately needs.Tracy and Yao cannot get it done alone against good defensive teams(Utah,SA etc.)Hopefully Coach Adelman gives Bonzi a 2nd chance here and brings his game back to a Sacramento playoff level.SD

Teamates have already asked him back. They realized and know the real issues between JVG and Bonzi.
JVG's personal agenda(selfish)prevented Houston from advancing in the playoffs.

If only JVG realized he was a coach and just that. Coach the players you are given, geeeez. BONZI would have killed the JAZZ in the post and on the boards - ask San Antonio. I am estatic JVG was fired. Welcome back BONZI we missed you during the playoffs. Get the ROCKETS over the hump - the first round. Give TMAC a hug cus i know he is deflated

Thank You God, JVG is gone and Bonzi coming back. He's was unstoppable in last year's playoffs, and could definately be that scoring punch off the bench plus it's Alderman who Bonzi loved back in Sac-town so this will work.
