You want to know the quickest way to torpedo your political aspirations? Run for Congress in Massachusetts and build your platform around bashing Pats quarterback Tom Brady. We're talking Walter Mondale-electoral-college-type popularity here. Despite the obvious setbacks to such a political strategy, it hasn't slowed Kevin Thompson, running on the Constitutional Party ticket, from getting the message out. Or something: "Tom Brady apparently has no regard for traditional virtue or Biblical morality... What is manly or praise-worthy of a man hopping from supermodel to supermodel and forcing a woman to raise her child without a loving present, father?"Didn't Chris Rock say something about a guy is only as faithful as his options? This sounds like Mr. Thompson.
Honestly, I'll never understand why people get so worked up over Tom Brady's personal life. Unless you're Bridget Moynahan, or members of her family, I'm pretty sure nothing Brady does affects you much. Or at least it shouldn't. People that look to celebrities for role models are just setting themselves up for disappointment.
Brady's in his 20s, by all accounts dreamy, and arguably the best quarterback on the planet. That he makes time with supermodels shouldn't be that surprising. That he impregnated one -- given the laws of probability -- shouldn't be that surprising either.
I know, I know, but he's had a bad attitude about becoming a father (or some such, I haven't really been paying attention). But here's a question for all the indignants: what about all the other professional athletes who father kids out of wedlock? Aren't we doing them a disservice by not putting them on a pedestal and then crushing them? Because, after all, isn't it about the children?
Oh, and Mr. Thompson, I'd keep an eye out for Larry Flynt. (And if you're a glutton for punishment, you can read the Thompson-on-Brady diatribe in its entirety here.)

what about all the non athletes that have children out of wedlock? are they all evil, too? i wasn't aware that we were living in puritan times. perhaps we should put a scarlet letter on miss moynihan's chest.
and why does it matter that the girls are supermodels? would it be less immoral if they were just a bunch of ugly chicks? what a total retard douche that guy is (whoever he is)

I cannot believe he called out Brady on this!! Ridiculous!! Brady is one of the better behaved players in the NFL, just cause super models dig him don't hate him!! But I guess this guy just wants some press like he has got though....

Actually I would like to "crush" (as you put it) all the professional athletes who father kids out of wedlock - not just Tom Brady. It IS about the children, but also about the single moms who have not been respected enough by the dads to marry them. Tom is particularly "targetible" because he has put himself forth as a celebrity by his behavior, endorsements, and who he dates.
And, come on, this is America. Just as many (if not more) people have a serious problem with Tom's treatment of Bridget Moynahan as those who think he should be given a pass because he's "in his 20s, by all accounts dreamy, and arguably the best quarterback on the planet". These are YOUR words - do you realize how shallow you sound?
I like to look at the whole person - whether he be a sports figure or a neighbor. And I am completely comfortable criticizing behavior that I find repulsive. People like Tom Brady have no special immunity against criticism. In fact, considering how they are in the public eye and are so watched by the country's youth, they seem to be a MOST APT target of judgement.

Tom's treatment of Bridget Moynahan? Are you kidding. What about her...what about her in all this. She was with him for 3 years...for all you know she broke up with him. In any case, no one knows what really happened or what they 'arranged' so step aside and let these two wealthy adults deal with their own mess. Why does everyone want to attack Brady on this? All he did was have sex. Are we shocked by that. OMG, Tom Brady had sex...OMG, call the cops. Bridget seems pretty freakin happy rubbing her baby bump in every freakin staged paparazzi photo op she can handle. She is obvioulsy happy to be Baby Brady Mommy. I guess she likes the attention. Meanwhile, Tom will do well by his son or daughter. This kid has been an outstanding citizen for many years with emmense fame. He had sex with a woman he was with for 3 years. He did not love her, she did not love him, so they broke up. What is the deal here people?????

Spin for you superstar all you want, but there is going to be another kid in the world without a father. That is irresponsible and selfish, wether it is happening in a trailer park or Park Ave. Oh, and by the way, If Tom Brady played on the Raiders or Texans we would really know if he was the best QB on the planet. Look how good Kurt Warner is.

Hey Sandra... you keep telling yourself that drivel... you sound like a perfect girlfriend candidate for the "real" Tom Brady. Poor Bridget was clearly duped by the phony Tom.

I just would like the following answered:
1>When did Bridgete state she wanted to get back together with Tom?
2>Where is this statement published or publicized?
3>Where is again stated Tom has had no contact with her since she told the world (who wasn't even asking) that she was pregnant?
4>Where is it stated that he will not be involved with this child once born?
5>Where is it stated that his level of involvement will be minute if at all when this child is born?
I love how we all generate our own stories based off the hype that the media, not the individuals themselves, creates. I am not for 2 people getting married for the sake of the child, there are plenty of strong independant women out there raising children on their own with the love and support of the fathers they aren't married to.

Some of you may want to get more information before tossing your worthless opinion into the matter.
When Bridget came forward with her pregnancy, there were a number of sources (including sources that were friends with Bridget) that stated that the pregnancy was no accident, and that Tommy Boy wasn't exactly consulted in the decision. This wasn't a case of Tom being sloppy and one sneaking by the goalkeeper, and then turning tail and running when he found out she was pregnant.
Apparently Bridget knew the relationship was on the decline, and wanted a kid. Tom didn't even find out about it until after the breakup. Not only that, but apparently Bridget went to the media about the pregnancy before she ever went to Tom.
This kid will be fine. Both his parents are loaded. This isn't your case of a deadbeat dad that turns tail and runs when he found out he knocked up his girl. Get off Tom's nuts.

This is the most moronic load of horsecrap I have ever seen. Brady's child will not be "fatherless"...Brady is the damn father! Whooop-deee-freakin'-dooo that he isn't marrying Bridget. All the "holy than thou" types like you criticizing Brady for not forever joining a woman who he rally doesn't want to be with should look within yourselves.
Getting married "for the sake of the child" is the worst thing a couple can do. I grew up in a household where my parents couldn't stand each other...had seperate bedrooms when they were in thei4 40's. The tension in that house was so great that I dreaded coming home from school every day. The best times I had with them were the times I spent with each one seperately.
Trust me.....I would have had a MUCH happier childhood had the gotten divorced when I was 2.
Ps.....I'll bet a very high percentage of people on this board are they themselves the product of a premarital midnight rendevous in the back seat of a Chevy.
Don't put ANYONE on a moral pedastal and then act surprised when they don't live up to your expectations....because chances are, you cannot live up to them yoursaelf.

I have to agree with Chase. After 3 years of dare I say this having sex Bridget suddenly gets pregnant as their relationship is at an end.
Bridget wanted a commitment, tom wanted no part of it and then suprise a baby. Sounds a little fishy. I guess she needed a souvenir.

I am tired of all the people saying this child is fatherless. If Brady rings true to who he has been then he will support this child. There was a relationship that did not work out, but it was for several years. Too bad. Better to break up now, and raise the child in HEALTHY enviornments then have 2 parents get married who don't want to be together. Or worse, divorce, and let the child suffer through months or years of fighting, cheating, slandering, and ultimately, spending a ton of money on an expensive divorce that would have been better spent supporting the child! Get a life, this is 2007. Bridget would be fine on her own if he was not involved, and if he is, I am sure he will demonstrate the CLASS he has shown. He is one of the best role models in pro sports today. A role model who shows that even though their relationship didnt work, he is still going to be a part of the childs life. Most of the people throwing stones in this blog are probably living in a very delicate glass house. Leave him ALONE, he is one of the few good guys in sports today

Brady and others who father kids out of wedlock should be castrated and the women sterilized. We have forgotten the word "bastard."
