It may not mean much since we're still 40 or so days away from the start of training camp, but Miami first-round pick Ted Ginn had a swell minicamp. Most of the Dolphins-related news this off-season has centered around Daunte Culpepper, why the team didn't draft Brady Quinn, why the team did draft Ted Ginn, and ... Daunte Culpepper. Well, head coach Cam Cameron reassured fans about the team's draft last month, and now let's just hope it all works out. Because if Ginn struggles and Quinn outperforms second-round pick John Beck, there could be a coup. Anyway, this is good news for the anti-coup faction:
...[A]fter the completion of minicamp Sunday, Cam Cameron had high praise for two rookies -- Ted Ginn and Samson Satele... Ginn, the ninth pick in the draft, finished his first minicamp, and spent five practices sharing time as a return specialist and wide receiver... Ginn is about 90 percent healthy after sustaining a foot sprain five months ago, but that didn't slow him. The former Ohio State standout showed speed as a returner, and routinely breezed past the secondary in passing drills.See, folks, nothing to worry about. The real test will come late next month, when players put on pads and are actually allowed to run into each other. Minicamp is a good start, but fans are looking for more in the ninth-overall pick than a return specialist who also serves as the team's slot receiver.
"He was everything I thought he was and then some" Cameron said.
