On Friday, Ryan Wilson brought you the news that
Redskins safety LaRon Landry is unable to practice right now because he got shot in the groin during a paintball outing with teammates. Well, now
Pro Football Talk has a report about how, exactly, Landry got shot. And although it's simply an unsubstantiated rumor from a reader, it's too funny not to pass along:
Landry had "shot" one of his Redskins teammates, knocking him out of the game. Then, Landry walked up to the player, who was on the ground at the time, and proclaimed that he was going to finish him off, execution style.
The teammate then raised his paintball gun and shot Landry point-blank in the crotch.
If that's true, that teammate would be wise to avoid Landry when full-contact training camp practices start.

5. It's hard enough to keep yourself in one piece physically being a pro footballer; and just bad judgement to believe you'd never be injured participating in a teen-aged antic. Grow up and work at earning the multi-million dollars you're paid playing football.

8. Wow...So this is what people do huh? He said it was a rumor just from a reader. Why fly off the handle about it? He is a grown man, hell I have played paintball for years and been shot in the groin once, just bad luck is all? The way people are going nuts over it you'd think they would want them to not jog, or ride a bike, rollerblade, walk down the street for fear of injuring themselves. Life is life, put some ice on it or rub some dirt on it and get back out there.

Just another example of how the blog generation has watered down the news world. Of course this is from the writer who thinks ultimate fighting or mma will surpass boxing soon. First off, you are an asshole for not being able to spell the word "asshole", must I remind you of your spelling: "ass whole". Now I would like to discuss your comment: "Now if he had a real gun and flashed it you would try to write something to put him under the jail. If it was up to me anyone like you trying to cause problems with your words should be in jail or shot in the balls." These words mean nothing, they are the words of a third grade special ed student or, what I believe you are, a crack addict. I don't know of many people who are sentenced to serve time "under the jail". You also said if it was up to you...well I'll just stop there because if anything in this world was up to an idiot like you I think I'd loose faith in humanity.

18. Threatening to "finish him off, execution style" I think says it all. It is a good thing these guys are paid for their physical abilities and not their brains.
They have been stars and heroes to millions in college and the NFL, yet for some reason still think and act like common street kids.

19. What a bunch of idiots that can't see through this story for the good that it is.My sone and I still do the paintball thing and yes I have been shot in the testicles. It definatly hurts. But the good thing is that most of the people that I know of that participate in this type of fun. Don't go to strip clubs. Don't smoke drugs. Don't have ties to dog fighting and it's cruelty. Don't beat their wives. This young man probably goes to church every sunday would be my guess. Not like those thugs Pacman And Vick both of whom should be barred from the NFL for life.
P.S. as far as spelling trust me when you are caught up in the middle of a heated typing moment spelling goes out the door.

20. i've been a fan of the redskins for almost 40 years and i never seen anyone doing that on this team. i think their just acting like a bunch of babies. my 15 year old wouldn't even do that to someone. that's what you call unsporstmanship. get rid of him or bench him for the first 4 games. we can play without him. trading him wouldn't solve the problem because he'll just get away with nothing.
