Donovan McNabb had a busy weekend of events in his name to help raise funds for many of his charities. These sort of events are great for two reasons. Most importantly, they raise a ton of money for great causes. And certainly less importantly, they get celebrity athletes in situations where they have to talk about something other than the game they just finished playing in or the season upcoming. Often times, it leads to some fun discussion.
Chicago Bears defensive lineman Tommie Harris is buddies with the Eagles quarterback. He certainly doesn't hide his fond feelings towards number five. (emphasis mine)
Speaking this weekend from Philadelphia, where Harris was a guest of McNabb's at the quarterback's charity golf tournament, the D-lineman had this to say: "I'd love to have [McNabb] as my quarterback in Chicago. ... Hopefully, he comes here and helps the Chicago Bears win the Super Bowl. ... If he comes to Chicago, we'll definitely win the Super Bowl. ... He's my friend and I would like him to play on my team. ... I'd love him to play for the Bears."He finished off his McNabb love rather strongly, "Hopefully we get Donovan."
Start those trade rumors!
Harris later noted on Chicago airwaves that he was joking around when he made those comments. He may have been joking, but I'd certainly agree with his assessment of the Bears winning a Super Bowl with Donovan McNabb running the show rather than Rex Grossman.

Get real. Donovan McNabb, will not get the "Ring" due to the fact that he is not a true quarterback. He does not read Def's well, and is prone to injuries. Even Randell Cuningham was truely never the same after his injury, even though he made a great comeback attempt with the Vikings. Chicago has the players now, and with more time you may see them in the "Big Show".

The Eagles showed what they could do when they decided to actually run the ball, winning 5 in a row & a playoff game, even with a 37 year old QB throwing floaters. If McNabb picks up where he left off last year, he's probably a top-5 QB. Add that to Chicago's defense, and no question they'd be the top contender in the NFC.

First of all if this "trade" ever happend, it would end any chance the Eagles have of winning a Super Bowl. Do guys truely think that McNabb isnt a true qaurterback? If so your guys are complete idiots. Mcnabb is arguably the 3rd best QB in the NFL when healthy, behind Brady and Manning, and Manning just became number 2 in my book after he won a Super Bowl. He might not be the best at reading defenses, but were all great QB's amazing at that? I strongly doubt it. What McNabb is good at, when healty is winning and thats all i want from him. I Know he has some health problems but you know what he can do when healthy. He is the person on this Eagles team that has to take us to the Super Bowl, not Westbrook or the Wideouts. With the Eagles proving that they can run the ball efectivly and McNabb hopefully coming back strong, which I see happening this year, the Eagles have such a good chance to win. Trading Mcnabb would end all the hope Philly fans have that their Birds will win. Just think about it before you say something. Is it really worth trading McNabb and bringing in a guy like Garcia or some else who can just manage the offense. The answer is NO. McNabb is the man and always be untill he hangs up his cleets and ends his career with the Eagles. He is the only QB that this Eagles team has any chance of winning with. So lets end all the discusions about trading McNabb, because if he leaves, we are back at square one, with no leader and we might as well being back Hoying and Peterson

first off justbb09: were you high when you said mcnabb was the third best qb in the nfl and that manning just became 2nd best when he won the superbowl. are you out of your mind? Manning is number one currently and he has been for the last five years. I dont care how good anyone thinks brady is as a qb, he is clutch but i mean he dumps off short passes and screens all day long. Carson Palmer is a much better qb than both mcnabb and brady and i think drew brees is better than mcnabb. now dont get me wrong, there is no doubt in my mind that the bears would WIN the superbowl if they had mcnabb but he is not even in the top five in the nfl. he is older and injury prone.

Hey, I'm a GIANT'S fan, But I have to admit, Mcnabb has been under-rated his whole career.I think he shines up there with the best of them. True, he hasn't won the big one, but, it doesn't mean he doesn't have what it takes to do so.

Yeah...Garcia showed him how it's done...mmhhm.
Ya know, McNabb reached 4 NFC champonships...Garcia didn't even reach the NFC championship last season. The only reason we got to the playoffs was Westbrook, Garcia is not a great QB. It'll be obvious after he sucks with he Bucs.
Who gave you the idea McNabb couldn't read defenses? If he couldn't, he'd make more mistakes right? I guess that's why he's the second least intercepted QB per pass attempt in the history of the NFL. It must also be why he's been the leader of the NFL's most prolific offense besides maybe the Colts and why he accounts for over 70% of he yardage when healthy. Stfu and actually watch football, understand it, before you criticize one of the greatest QBs playing today.
Imo...the best Qbs in order are
1. Manning ( EASILY, I HATE THE COLTS W/ A Passion too. )
2. Brady
3. McNabb
4. Palmer
5. Brees

Thank you sfasd...someone with some common sense. You cant put Palmer ahead of Mcnabb when he hasent even gotton out of the first round of the playoffs. Garcia will be exposed as a mediocre QB at best with the Bucs. McNabb is going to flurish with this running game that we have now, if Andy lets Martty keep calling the plays. Im more worried about the D then the offense. We are relying on young guys like Constidine, Goocon...if thats how u spell it, and bunkley. However i dont think the bunkley is a stud and him and patterson are going to be a great duo for a long time. But back to Mcnabb. lets just give hime some time and see because it doesnt matter if hes the 3rd best or the 6th. as long as he plays smart, which i dont see why he wouldnt, and hands the ball of to westbrook, we will be fine
