I don't ever remember an athlete's newborn baby becoming as big a news story as Sam Alexis Woods, daughter of Tiger Woods and his wife, Elin.
I think maybe it's because there's such a perception that Tiger was endowed from birth with the ability to be the greatest golfer of all time, that we're just waiting to see what great talent young Sam has.
Whatever the reason, the pictures that Woods has posted on his web site of Sam, himself and Elin are so adorable that they're only going to make Sam a bigger media star than she already is.
Woods is skipping this week's Buick Open to spend time with his family, but he is expected to be back in time for the British Open, which begins July 19.

CONGRATULATIONS to the proud parents of the newborn daughter, Sam Alexis Woods. You have given golf the greatest showmanship and I love watching you play at the tournaments on TV. I wish I could meet you and that darling wife and baby, however I know it is impossible. I will say many prayers for all three of you that you may have a long, healthy, and wonderful life together. I'll be watching for Sam-Alexis in the youngsters tournaments in the future.

Tiger had two great roll models as parents. If Woods is half the dad that his own father was the baby will be off to a great start in life. Good luck and congrats Tiger my thoughts and prayers will be with your family.

It would be nice if everyone would read the story before commenting -- Tiger and his wife had a baby GIRL -- not a boy -- and her name is SAM -- and SHE is going to be a wonderful little girl who is loved -- that is obvious from the pictures and the joy on the parents faces -- CONGRATS !!!!!!!!!!!!
