Former NFL player and TV commentator Bill Maas was arrested in East Peoria, Illinois on Saturday night, a local television station is reporting.
Police say Maas seemed nervous so they asked to check his car.
He gave them permission to do the check and that's when police found a loaded 22-caliber revolver hand gun, 5 grams of cannabis, 6 grams of cocaine and 28 ecstasy pills.
Maas was arrested on felony drug and felony weapons charges.
Maas spent nine seasons playing defensive tackle for the Chiefs and one with the Packers. He's a two-time Pro Bowler and won the league's defensive rookie of the year award in 1984.

The police planted that shit...
First of all, why did they stop him? And they asked to search his car because he "seemed nervous"???
Not buying it.

Instead of wondering why the police pulled him over, we should all celebrate the fact we won't have to hear him on FOX anymore.

Yeah, the U is right - just another case of the Man keepin' whites down.
If the U was over 14 years of age, he'd know how these things work.
Hooray AOL Fanhouse - where the nation's best and brightest commenters come to play.

I would say the drug thing explains his awful commentary, but he would have to be on way more drugs than what was found on him to be that bad.

Also, instead of wondering if the police planted that on him, celebrate the fact that one less person under the influence of drugs is off the road before he kills someone.
It's just so sad that drugs and booze are so rampant in our society... can't anyone ever just get up and get through the day with out pills and drinks?? is life that horrible?? good god!!

You have got to be kidding to even utter that the police had no cause to stop him. When Marvin Lewis stated the same thing, he was made to retract it. It happens to black players all the time. White folks need to get more "tastes of their own medicine".

Good for the police getting him off the streets and pity to the girl with him that she can not do better than him. All I had to do was go to his "my space" page and it told me all I needed to know about him.
Hope he gets the help he needs.

Gee, I don't know why he'd be nervous, given how much cocaine he had on/in him.

I would love to go into every cops house and search there property most of them would have something to hide? Such serious drugs there huh, but its ok if it was prescribed oxycotin ? lol. Our country poisons its own people with legal drugs everyday!! Even the children get some to cope with life? So wrong is not right and your rights are not wrong?

I am from the town where he was pulled over. The state gave a "seat belt" grant to the city for roadside checks (roadblocks) to check for people wearing their seatbelts. Where he got nailed is a common place for these checks.
