Despite earlier reports that the Knicks were ready to trade away David Lee to get their hands on Ron Artest, according to the NY Post, Isiah Thomas isn't willing to give up the rebounding machine that is Lee.If the Knicks are to obtain Ron Artest in a summer package, they'll have to do it without Lee being included in the package. According to a person with knowledge of the situation, Knick president Isiah Thomas has not made Lee available in talks with Sacramento, nor will he in potential future talks. As much as I want the Knicks to become the craziest team in pro sports (with Artest, Stephon Marbury, Nate Robinson, and Zach Randolph), giving up David Lee is simply not worth it. He's young; their best rebounder; plays defense; and contributes offensively without demanding shots.
That being said, I'm not sure I'm prepared to live in a world where Isiah makes sound decisions in the Knicks front office.

3. i agree with gianthinker...Artest is a great player..especially a great defensive player...but hes too much of a risk with the new addition of Z-Bo..i believe hes a risk that Thomas would be willing to take if it meant not giving up David Lee...Lee was a big surprise to me and averages a double double without starters minutes..imagine what the kid would average with 36 minutes a night...thats an almost gauranteed 13 rpg...trading jeffries, robinson, jones, and dickau 4 artest nd wiliamson [money reasonz] is a good deal...artest has already stated he would opt out to play 4 tha knicks next season so that makes him even more uneligable 4 other teams [bad history, plus one year rent doesnt sound good]..he would ultimately do what jeffries was brought to do and that would be guard other teams star players and actually play defense...and the knicks need it even more that our frontline includes z-bo nd EC which wouldnt even intimidate my little brother...if the knicks could they should try 2 leave robinson out of the trade since he puts on a good show and maybe thats it..
