Kevin Nash is the latest pro wrestler to go on Fox News to talk about the Chris Benoit murder-suicide, and he's the latest to call into question the notion that steroids are the reason Benoit killed his wife, his son and himself.
"I'm sure there's a lot more people causing violent crime on alcohol than on steroids," Nash said, and I think he's probably right. He also says that alcohol was found at the crime scene, and that Benoit has had a DUI and problems with alcohol. So why hasn't alcohol use been blamed the way steroid use has been?

When you're a "journalist" like these two FOX News blowhards would claim to be, and a pro wrestler is not only better spoken than you, but also better at debate and articulating clear, concise, and valid points, it might be time to look into another profession.

I agree alcohol does make you do stupid things.... get in a fight, fall down, talk stupidly, get a DUI.....stupid things ............ not murder....of 3 people, self included....there was something wrong in the brain for this too happen.....and why didn't anyone ask Kevin about his friend Scotty Steiner...from a 145lb weekling to a 350 lb muscle hunk that can't bend over and touch his knees, let alone his toes. Is his body the results of good old alcohol or just a darn good diet?

All wrestlers are on 'roids plain and simple, but not all wrestlers kill their families. Benoit was deranged, who knows maybe too many hits to the head messed up his brain. Steroids or not no-one would take their child's life unless there's something seriously wrong (mentally) with them.

He says that more people are doing violent crimes when on alcohol than steroids but there are a lot more people who drink than use steroids.

I agree with Kevin Nash. I believe if looked at it closer alchol causes more violience and, yes, murder than "Roid Rage" does. Looking at both sides I don't know the ratio of murders related to alchol to murders committed by steriods, but I have to believe that more people drink alchol than take steriods so murders done by someone intoxicated would be higher. As to the 3rd comment on this article by piangaS do you not watch the news or read the paper, people in an alcohol stuper kill thousands of people a year.

"Alcohol makes you do stupid things, but not murder"???? So I guess murder isn't stupid in your book? And P.S. Most violent domestic disputes are caused by alcohol. Ask any of your local law enforcement and they will tell you the same. Nice try though. I love how just because a murderer has steroids in his system, its all because of the steroids. Did Raphael Palmeiro, Mark McGuire, Justin Gatlin or any other of the people caught over the last few years kill anyone? NO. This country loves to put the blame on steroids because they are illegal. God forbid we put the blame on legally sold alcohol. Signed- Proud AA member and drink free for 6 years.

Steroids didn't kill Benoit's wife and kid he did. The man was deranged, maybe drugs had something to do with it, I don't know. But binding his wife's feet and choking his child seems like the act of someone that was in control. Bottom line is the guy was nuts and we all know where's he going.

Due to the amount of pain killers, alcohol, etc that meny pro wrestlers have been shown to resort to taking on a daily basis, I agree that the recipe for disaster was there. Kevin Nash is absolutely correct in insisting that nobody leap to any conclusions until the tox screen is in. ANd yes, Steiner may have gotten huge, but what documented cases did he go beserk outside of the "sport" are there? One last thing, with a signature move of leaping off the top rope and smacking a guy with your forehead (even near misses are going to hurt), and the fact that major personality centers of your brain are in the frontal lobe, how much damage did this man do to himself unintentionally?

The tox report is not even in and we are spectulating what happen. In reality no one will ever know what happen. Chris Benoit took his reasoning to his grave. I am saddened by what happened to his wife and his young son. It wasn't only steroids that have killed the many wrestlers that have passed away. With Eddy Gurerro his heart complications were from the years of prescription drugs and alcohol. Mr. Perfect was complications of drug overdose (that does mean steroids only).
My point is lets wait for the tox report before jumping to conclusion.

Someone said earlier. Steroids didn't kill his family he did. That is EXACTLY it. When the Menendez brothers killed their parents no one said oh it was the guns that killed them. Having steroids in your house doesn't make you anymore a killer than having a shotgun in your house. I laugh how when Mr Nash is about to make a valid point regarding roid rage the announcers cut him off. News reporter are supposed to REPORT the news, not subjectively tell it as they think it fits within their prejudices.

Amazing. All I can say is that this interview was amazing. Put all we have read aside and just look at this interview. Kevin Nash was speaking intelligently and not answering the questions the way 'they' didn't want to hear so they cut him off at every turn when he was trying to make a point.
This tragedy has turned into a media circus and witch hunt. Nash may have not seen roid rage in his time, but I have and I will be the first to tell you that what happened with Benoit was NOT roid rage. We are looking at a man who had some serious wires crossed and needed help.
This interview (and others) sicken me because the only intelligent and informed sides are coming from the wrestlers and they are being pushed aside and spoken over as if they are idiots while the media doesn't take into consideration that many of these guys are college educated and are well spoken. They want the story and are running over facts to prove otherwise. It is sick.
The real issues aren't being dealt with. They see the word steroids like the words 'pit bull' and jump on it and try to prove it just because they saw a brown dog bite someone without actually looking for the facts.

Call me crazy, but, everything in my gut tells me that Chris Benoit, did not do this.I think it was a professional hit-made to look like exactly what everyone is saying it does.Let's not forget that Nancy was also a wrestler/manager at one time. She went to the same gym, doctor, and knew everyone that Chris did,and had access to everything that he had access too. Worth investigating in my book.

Way to go Kevin!!!!! I agree with you 100%.I think there's alot more to this case than what the investigators, and media should be looking into.Let's not forget that Nancy was also a wrestler/manager as weel, and had access to everything that Chris did.
