The gauntlet has been thrown down, ladies and gentlemen. While talking to a group of top hat-and-monocle donors in Birmingham, Nick Saban issued a WWF-style challenge to the golden domers, saying:"I'd like to play Notre Dame," Saban said after a speech to a packed room of members of the Rotary Club of Birmingham. "We played them three times at Michigan State and beat them three times. That was a great national game, it creates fan interest and TV will always jump on those games."
Well, of course Nick Saban wants to play Notre Dame. Bob Davie is personally responsible for much of Saban's net wealth by boldly refusing to show up for any Michigan State games for half a decade. Personally, I would love for this this series to happen, but it's all a pipe dream that will undoubtedly get laughed off the stage when it makes it to the athletic offices, as both schools have notoriously pantywaist AD's.

1. Agreed. I wouldn't put it past those two to get together, smoke a few stogies and belly-laugh about actually scheduling each other.
God I hate Mal Moore.

2. ND WHAT A JOKE !!! Didn't SABANs LSU team kick their ass in a bowl game last year ??

4. pantywaist? Get off the crack, dude. ND and Bama have played before-there is a good history there. Two of the best bowl games ever played involved ND and Bama. If Saban wants to play ND, it WILL happen. Stop hating on everything Bama. Envy is a terrible thing.
As for Mal Moore. He got rid of "deer in the headlights" Shula...and got "I can recruit" Saban, so cut him some slack.

5. Alabama will lose to Lsu.Les miles is was the coach of that LSU team last year.

6. Randal, please shut up. You're not helping.
ND won't be on the schedule until we get rid of Moore.
Yes... he got rid of Shula. He also HIRED Shula. To say nothing of the fact that he didn't have the cajones to fire DuBose when he should have, and was involved in the unceremonious dumping of Price AND his Athletic Department has overseen the ostracism of Daniel Moore from the Alabama Family.
Moore has done some good things for the Tide, but his time has passed. We need new blood.

7. Ummm . . . didn't Notre Dame need the greatest comeback in their history (only made possible by a meltdown by probably-concussed Drew Stanton, and the normal coaching errors of a probably-retarded John L. Smith) to beat Michigan State.
Yeah, Coaching God Charlie Weiss is soooo great that a win over Michigan friggin' State -- one of the weakest teams in the already weak Big ten -- requires near-divine intervention.
So what's the Coaching God's record against the juggernaut Michigan State? 1-1? That's mighty impressive. Really. I think they should give him an award for that kind of feat. His record would actually be 0-2, were it not for the comeback for the ages last year. And that's against the no-talent John L. Smith coached Michigan State (however bad Bob Davie was, John L. was worse).
