Culpepper Quotes Gandhi Upon Release

The Dolphins and Daunte Culpepper have finally parted ways and the QB couldn't be happier. "As I was going through this process I heard about a quote by Gandhi that best expressed my thoughts about this victory. He said, 'First, they ignore you, then they ridicule you. Then they fight you, then you win.'"

Well, getting out of a pro football contract really wasn't what Gandhi had in mind ... but go with it, man.

Really, it was sort of a win for Culpepper. He got his outright release so he can find a good spot for him ... not where the Dolphins could ship him off to. Now he can head up the coast to Jacksonville and see if he can take Byron Leftwich's job [er, or anywhere else].

The problem is that the win comes at a tough cost. Today is July 17th and it will tough for him to find a job right now ... especially if the Jags pass on him. Most teams have the QBs set and bringing in Culpepper will only undermined whomever the starter is. Not to mention that this whole episode might make teams weary of having him around complaining if he isn't starting. The best Culpepper may hope for is waiting around a while and signing on with a team that suffers a major injury at the position.
