The Falcons' most popular player, Michael Vick, is embroiled in a scandal that will keep fans from seeing him at training camp (and likely keep fans from ever seeing him in a Falcons uniform again). But at least fans can see the Falcons' second-most popular player, Warrick Dunn, at training camp. Right? Not quite. Dunn will miss training camp after having surgery to repair a herniated disc in his back. The surgery typically takes six weeks of recovery, so he still has a chance to be back in time for the season opener.
If there's anything positive for the Falcons, it's that Dunn was expected to take a secondary role to Jerious Norwood this season. Norwood is a promising running back who is probably a better player right now than Dunn, who has lost a step. But Dunn is a veteran leader on a team that can't afford to lose any veteran leadership right now.

Lets just get this straight.
The Falcons are going to be pretty bad this year. As long as Atlanta players keep living up to their reputation, they will always have people in hot water.

I remember that a local sportscaster in New Orleans suggested that when Michael Vick and Arthur Blank became the star player and owner respectively the Falcons were going to flying high and the New Orleans Saints were going to be cellar dwellers. Now I'll bet that sportscaster is eating his words.
