Titans Tell Pacman Jones Pro Wrestling Would Violate His Contract

Titans cornerback Pacman Jones is apparently in discussions to sign with the professional wrestling outfit TNA. But while Jones is suspended for the entire 2007 season, he's still under contract with the Titans, and the team isn't keen on his latest venture.
"That type of thing is not permitted in accordance with the player's contract,'' Coach Jeff Fisher said Monday....

"He's a football player. He's no wrestler,'' linebacker Keith Bulluck said. "He needs to concentrate on other things besides wrestling.

"I think he has enough on his plate right now. But you never know with that guy. Who knows what he is going to do. I don't know if that is the best thing to do, but at the same time it not my decision, it's Pac's.''

Jones is not permitted to practice with the team, but he is allowed to work out and watch film once a week. He was at the Titans' practice facility Monday, but he didn't talk to the media, and teammates said he didn't talk to them about wrestling. TNA said it expects to have an announcement about his status with the organization soon, and there are indications that he'll sign some type of contract with TNA but not actually get in the ring to wrestle.
