Odell Thurman Violates Probation

Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman, who was suspended for the entire 2006 season and recently lost his bid to be reinstated in 2007, failed to report to his probation officer last week.

Failing to report is a violation of his probation, and that could land him in jail. He was previously sentenced to 90 days in jail but allowed to serve just six of them as part of an agreement to seek treatment for alcohol addiction.

Thurman was actually a very good player as a rookie in 2005 -- the photo shows Thurman at a press conference after he was named Defensive Rookie of the Year. But given all his off-field problems, I seriously doubt he will ever play another NFL game.
