Is Alex Rodriguez Going to Get His No. 500 Homer Ball Back?

With all the milestones happening this past weekend, there's some money to be made if one was lucky enough to snag Barry Bonds' 775th homer ball or Alex Rodriguez's 500th. Well, a fellow named Walter "Sonny" Kowalczyk from New Jersey caught A-Rod's ball and it's looking like he probably won't be returning it.
"He doesn't want to be robbed. There's a lot of wild people out there in New York," his older brother Brian Kowalczyk, 31, told the Daily News. "He's going to lie low for a few days, and then he's going to surface with it."

He claims Kowalczyk, 29, is already feeling squeezed by the Yankees, which he said hustled him into the bowels of Yankee Stadium and tried to get him to negotiate with a lawyer right away.

"The Yankees offered him a signed jersey, and he said no. The negotiations at Yankee Stadium were p--s-poor," Brian Kowalczyk said. "If A-Rod would have approached him, things would have been different."
And later:
"If he was doing well in life, he would give [the ball] to the Hall of Fame," Brian Kowalczyk said. "He spent all his money to have these Yankees season tickets. I was arguing with him for that. There's nothing I can say now."

This is a tough spot to be in. On the one hand, I could see wanting to give A-Rod the ball back if you're a fan of the team. But, you'd be giving up thousands upon thousands of dollars in the process. And well, if you're a student like Kowalczyk, that would be kind of dumb.

What I'd do? Get A-Rod, Bonds and Hank Aaron to sign the ball, then sell it David Wells for $500,000 and a keg of beer. I'm sure Wells would be game.
