Kissing Suzy Kolber discovered this incredibly disturbing video of Raiders fans and Chargers fans going at it in the stands:
I have a bad feeling that it's only a matter of time before a violent confrontation among fans of rival teams ends with someone dead. From my own experiences in NFL stadiums, I don't think there's anywhere near enough security. Improving stadium security might need to be the next big project for Roger Goodell.

1. That's disgusting. I've seen behavior like this before at Jacksonville too. I was shocked. I agree, stadium security needs to be much better. It should be! People will pay between $60 to $600 for a seat... surely they can afford security for the safety of the spectators. People like this are sad. :(

2. Seeing this video doesn't surprise me at all. If you have ever been to a raiders game, the raider fans are like this everywhere, especially when playing chargers, its a pretty fierce rivalry....And just imagine the parking lot if people are willing to do this in stands...
Too bad most of them look fall down wasted and are just falling over each other...:)

3. Well, cross sportsnipe.com off the list of sites I'll ever visit. As a former Raiders' season ticket holder, I can say you haven't a clue. Sure there are Raider fans (or Niner fans or .... etc.) that get a kick out of being a thug with taunts or actual violence. And that sucks. But to say Raiders fans are like this everywhere is obnoxious. In four seasons in the Dark Side (the other end zone) I never saw a single fight. 32 games plus preseason. No fights. And there were plenty of opponents' fans in the section - every game. Good luck building traffic to your site that way.

4. Obviously not every Raiders fan is like the people in that video. I live in Philly and there are a lot of crazy fans as well, but not all fans are like that.
NFL stadiums really need to beef up security. It's pathetic. They have 1 person in charge of a huge section of people.

5. Jeez, that was just pre-season. You should be in the parking lot after the game. Detroit in a blackout is safer.

6. It used to be that the Raiders had two home games against the Chargers, one in Oakland/L.A., and one in San Diego. I think part of the problem now is that there are enough Charger fans in the seats when the Raiders visit to actually reciprocate, and Bolt fans have some catching up to do in the thuggery department.
I think Raider fans have done a lot to clean up their image, but there are enough Cholo idiots (the bulk of the jerks in Black and Silver) coming down from L.A. to keep the reputation going for some time to come. Unfortunately, I think the Charger fans' image is going to get worse.
By the way, most of us Bolt fans are not bandwagoners - we just live in a city in which most of the people aren't from here and bring other teams' loyalty with them, and most of us won't spend $100 a ticket to see a bad product from an owner we don't like.

8. Simple solution- stop selling alcoholic beverages at pro sports stadiums. They may walk in drunk, but maybe it will wear off near the end of the game. It won't put an end to the violence, but it will reduce it considerably, and make the stadium experience better for us non-alcoholics.

9. Moo is right. I was a season ticket holder in Oakland for six years. Section 252. No fights. Anyone ever video soccer matches? People do die in those fights. You want to see fan fights, video the stands at Philly or Boston and leave the Raiders alone for once.

10. A football fan is safer at a foxhole in Iraq than a football stadium these days. And I thought wrestling fans are buttheads if you disagree with their viewpoint.

11. sadly, it's the CHARGER fans who are unruly these days...the raiders suck and so does the mystique of their fans. but the charger fans are horrible and think that because they'll have a few good years and never win a super bowl, it gives them the right to fight AT EVERY GAME.
meanwhile, at the new stadium in phoenix, if someone complains that you won't sit in your seat and they don't want to stand up the whole game, they can get you thrown out...in some stadiums, the security needs to be beefed up, but there are few that it needs to be toned down a bit...but the chargers aren't a corporate owned team, so they don't have a "disneyland" mentality. their fans suck, and for years they've been great, but now that the team is good, unruly behavior is the course of the day.

12. I have been a charger season ticket holder since the early 80's and the raider fans have always invaded our stadium (thanks to fans who sold them their seats and the remarkable number of seats available for purchase (not anymore). They are rude, crude and always looked for fights. I remember one year a raider fan jumped out of the stands and starting hitting the then-mascot BOLTMAN. Anyone who has been to our stadium for any other game knows we don't fight opposing fans (ask the Patriot fans) Until the last few years, we barely had enough hardcore fans to even begin to fight anyone, we spent more time booing the chargers than caring about opposing fans. I stopped going to raider games a few years ago, too many fights, too many raider fans looking to start something.

13. I have to agree with #6...totally!...I like both teams, and being from the bay I had the pleasure of seeing many raider/charger games....the oak fans just dress up for the spirit of the game, the way tv protrays it, youd think theres an all out riot every game!....the truth is most raider fans are just die hard football fans from way back! and some idiots too stoned or loaded to care...theres never any fights in oak!....its the so cal gangbangers left over from the LA days that invade SD that are the problem...they wouldnt do that shit in oakland!

14. The average Charger fan is mellow and just wants to enjoy a winning team for a change. But there are enough rowdy Bolts fans to mix it up with enough of the rowdy Raider fans to keep the violent reputation going.
I know a lot of Raider fans, and hardly any of them have criminal records. A guy is safer wearing a Charger jersey in Oakland than a Dolphins jersey in Foxboro.
