FanHouse's Top Five scans the sports blogosphere for the best posts of the last 24 hours so you don't have to. Got something for this feature? Hit us up at fanhouse@googlegroups.com.1) Sorry. While I usually hate Flava Flav (or, like Michael Jackson, I hate what he's become), I can't help but get carried away sometimes. Neither can You Been Blinded; the blog did a fantastic job pulling together all the sports-related jokes from last night's roast of Flava Flav. Yes, Flava Flav got roasted. So was Pam Anderson. When the people doing the roasting lack talent, they pick the easiest, most obvious jokes. (Admittedly, the joke about Flava Flav looking like Magic Johnson should look; yeah, that's funny.) Next roastee: Paris Hilton?
2) He's been maligned, and interviewed, in the blogosphere before, but Nation of Islam Sports Blog has a really thoughtful and fresh give-and-take with Scoop Jackson. Required reading, even if you hate Scoop's style and content. (Note: I don't.)
3) With Madden 08 shipping tomorrow -- but how will it port to PSP?? -- talk of video games is snowballing as it usually does in mid-August. Bill Simmons devoted an entire hour-long podcast to discussing Maddens of old with his buddy Gus, and Bugs and Cranks takes a trip through their avatar's work in MLB 07 The Show. For the record, I have a friend who hit 56 home runs and 151 RsBI in one season in The Show, and inexpicably got traded to the Pirates for Jack Wilson. He deleted the game file and started over.
4) Tanking games is generally considered bad for the NBA, but it's hard to argue against its long-term competitive nature. After all, if you have a chance at the best players in a decade, are you really doing right by your fans trying to win games and ruin your chance at those players? Not really. So agrees Mark Cuban, though his Mavericks will likely not be tanking anything, besides a first-round playoff series, soon.
5) According to SportsbyBrooks, John Daly sports a $750 crocodile belt. As Brooks notes, there is no way to confirm this story is true or false.

2. You like his 'style' of stealing gimmicks from Yaysports?

3. Actual best joke from the Flavor roast: Patton Oswalt (I think) saying Chuck D couldn't make it because the D stood for dignity. Most realist comment: when someone said Flavor was a sell-out.
