An ugly steeplechase accident marred the world track and field championships in Osaka, Japan, today, as Austrian Guenther Weidlinger had to be rushed to the hospital after this fall:


Weidlinger was running the 3,000-meter steeplechase. He initially appeared to be badly hurt, but Austrian team doctor Andreas Kroener said, "He is now fully conscious and can think and speak clearly."
