Thanks to our friend Nilay Patel from Engadget for passing along this picture of the Lamborghini owned by Bears linebacker Lance Briggs, the car that was found crashed and abandoned by the side of the road at 3:15 a.m. today. (A picture of the car after it crashed is here.)
Nilay took the pic at Roosevelt and State in Chicago's South Loop. He tells us that he drove behind Briggs' car Sunday night at about 10:30 p.m., and that he took this photo with his iPhone (Yes, of course the guy from Engadget took it on an iPhone) because he hadn't seen a $350,000 Lamborghini on the street before.
Nilay tells us the driver was going really, really fast, but that he wasn't accomplishing anything by going so fast on city streets. In fact, Nilay, driving a 13-year-old car with more than 200,000 miles on it, caught up to him every time they hit a red light. Unfortunately, Nilay isn't able to solve the mystery of who was driving Briggs' car. Briggs hasn't said, and Nilay was always behind the car, so he never got a good look at the driver.

Nilay Patel sounds like a liar to me.

Briggs just lent his $350,000 car to a drunken friend and said- go take some rubber off the tires.

I think he was testing the car out, but during on the highway Brigg got a call and trying to reach for his cell and lost control.
