Kevin Martin Inks $55 Million Extension With the Kings

Alright, Kings fans no longer have to be on the edge of their collective seats waiting for something good to happen, because well -- something good happened:
According to two league sources, fourth-year shooting guard Kevin Martin late Monday night agreed to a five-year contract extension with the Kings worth about $55 million.

Though Martin will be paid $1.8 million this season, his contract would make him the third-highest paid Kings player when it begins. Center Brad Miller is owed $11.4 million for the 2008-09 season, and point guard Mike Bibby, who has a player option for that season, would be owed $14.5 million.
This is great news all around. Kevin Martin doesn't have to worry about looking elsewhere to be paid his worth and the Kings organization won't be called stupid for losing an All-Star caliber player for years to come. High fives to everyone!
