Chiefs Could Have Interest in Byron Leftwich

We've spent all off-season wondering who would be the Chiefs' starting quarterback, Damon Huard or Brodie Croyle, and we finally found out that it would be Huard.

But that was before we found out that Byron Leftwich is available. Is it possible that the Chiefs could bring him in?

Arrowhead Addict thinks so
, and Peter King does too. Leftwich wouldn't be able to beat Huard out for at least a month or so while he learns the Chiefs' offense and develops chemistry with the Chiefs' receivers, and he also wouldn't be viewed as the quarterback of the future, as the Chiefs' brass seems to like Croyle's long-term potential.

But if the Chiefs think they might find themselves looking up in mid-October and seeing that they're fighting for a playoff spot but not getting the kind of production out of Huard that they want, getting Leftwich now and having him ready by midseason could be the right move.
