Michael Vick gave a public apology last week after he pleaded guilty to federal conspiracy charges related to his Bad Newz Kennels dog fighting ring. Some Vick supporters have said that Vick must have been sincere in his apology because he gave it without notes. But the Humane Society of the United States says that's not true: According to the Humane Society, Vick had handwritten notes in front of him -- and the Humane Society says it's in possession of those notes:
With dozens of reporters jammed into the press room at the Omni Hotel in Richmond, it was The HSUS's own Chad Sisneros, head of our Video Services section, who in looking to retrieve his microphone saw the abandoned scrap of paper and picked it up.The notes say:
1. Apologize for what I've done
2. Apologize Commissioner, AB, Petrino, ashamed disappointed
3. Young kids I acted immature
4. Forgiveness & understanding
5. Take full responsibility for my actions
6. We all make mistakes I've made mistakes in judgment / Dogs have suffered
That last part -- dogs have suffered -- is in a box at the lower right corner of the paper, and the Humane Society says that's the one Vick never said.
The Humane Society is selling the notes on eBay, and it says the money will go to help in its efforts "to bust the next dogfighting ring."

so what? I hope Michael Vick DIDNT mean that simpering drivel he was FORCED to say! If he had killed PEOPLE, i could understand all the whining outrage from meat eaters! Bt then if he HAD, the reaction from these dogworshipping misanthropes would have been a lot less!
Besides, the humane society kills thousands of dogs every year!

Ray's comments about Vick imply he supports dogfighting, so one shouldn't heed to his humbuggery. (But for the record, here are the facts about The Humane Society of the United States: http://www.hsus.org/about_us/About-Us.html.) The public has responded with disgust to the allegations of cruelty against Vick because his actions are reprehensible, and because people recognize that this sort of violence toward animals cannot easily be contained. Animal cruelty is an antecedent to violence toward people.

Let it rest already.
If he hadn't hit the point's that the public feels is necessary, then there'd be an outrage about that.
This story is old.
BTW, MDS is a racist nerd.

Jeffrey Dahmer started with cruelty to animals! You don't have a nickname in dogfighting circles unless you're regularly involved, Michael Vick should be banned from football permanently. Disgusting acts such as this do NOT a hero make. I say put him in a ring with the remaining dogs and let them decide his fate!

Vick had notes? What a shocker! What's next, he didn't come up with the talking points, his lawyers did? Like no fricken way, man.
Vick's a POS, but come on...this is a complete non-story.

PETA, the Humane Society and everyone else out to crucify Vick would be better off to move on now. Public sentiment has already started to turn and moves like this, after Vick pleaded guilty and apologize just make the Humane Society and others look vindictive.
Let Vick prove whether or not he meant his apology, which -- notes or not -- did not include the "but it's not REALLY my fault" language we see in most celeb mea culpas.

This is just another atempt to add fuel to the fire if anyone out there has never done wrong please let me know and if you have have the person ever forgiven you afterward. The whole point of this is to see where he goes from here in his personnel life not his football life that has nothing to do with this. let the man live his life unless he directly affected you or your family

Stop judging the man!
Like who hasn't fought dogs, tortured them, electrocuted them, hung them, and if they were miraculously still living, shoved their heads in buckets of water and drowned them.
Everybody does this. People are picking on Ookie only because he's black. And gay, too.

Cleo,
Are you saying that if he's dealing heroine or smoking meth or running a prostitution ring and it doesn't directly affect me or my family it should be allowed and he should be allowed to play football?

I don't consider myself a "dogworshipping misanthrope" but I do consider myself a guy who appreciates dogs as companions and personalities. And so does the majority of the rest of the civilized United States. People who are defending this idiot are doing so because of two reasons: 1.) They're black and they don't want to see a high-profile black guy get into trouble (my guess is no matter what he did short of killing someone, Vick's defenders would justify his crimes) and/or 2.) They're Falcons fans and they haven't yet realized that Vick is nothing more than a glorified running back. You'd have been better off signing Culpepper. At least he can throw to a receiver with some accuracy. If it weren't for Crumpler Vick would have about 112 yards passing for his career.

Here the one about Vick and some Partners trying to set up a Legal Dogfighting venue un Reno. I hear that if your dog lost both of ya'll would go next door to the brothel to release your frustration (discount prices of course).

Doesn't look like left-handed handwriting to me. Not that I'm an expert, but it's got a left to right slant which a lefty wouldn't normally give his writing. I could be wrong, tho

Decent people are against dog fighting. It has nothing to do with race. But I don't know why people think that Vick didn't have notes. You could see the piece of paper in his hand, while going to the podium.
And everybody knows that Vick is only sorry he got caught. Otherwise, he would still be torturing animals.

Interesting observation, Jesse, about the left-handed writing. I recall seeing Vick signing footballs with his right hand, though, so I think he's amphibious.
Note the mistake in "judement."
