Where's a skier when you need him?It all started on the first punt return of the game. Greg Lewis decided to field a punt inside the Eagles own ten yard line with the Packers storming towards him. It was a decision that helped cost the Eagles their season opening loss at Lambeau.
Lewis made another poor decision in the second half, fielding another punt he likely should have avoided. It upset Andy Reid and special teams coach Rory Segrest and gave the punt returning job to J.R. Reed.
Reed didn't fare any better. On a punt with under two minutes to go, Reed, sprinting up towards a ball he may not have had any business trying to field, fumbled the ball. Green Bay recovered and was in perfect position to kick a game winning field goal.
The Eagles never really showed much in week one, but the loss can be put on the shoulders of Rory Segrest, Greg Lewis and J.R. Reed.

It doens't look much more promising than 8 wins this year for the Eagles. Why? The Eagles reverted back to a passing game in the second half when they were getting 4-5 yards a carry on the ground. Why not just run the dang ball down their throats and take some of the pressure off a less than 100% QB. Take some time off the clock too why don't you. McNabb is not going to hold up at this pace. Again the reliance on the passing game will hurt the Eagles coupled with the fact that they let Garcia go. The same old Eagles showed up today: sloppy with all the early penalties and a need to pass even when the run looked pretty sucessful.

Why can't anyone field a punt??? What was summer camp for??? Why on week 1 do they not have a game plan for kickoff returns..........OH God my stomach hurts!!!

The Packer defense deserves some credit too, and the old man keeping the young receivers and tailbacks from making too many mistakes. The Eagles should have won it anyway, though

Are you kidding me? 4 minutes left, we force a fumble and we run 2 useless draw plays up the middle? We could've ended the game right there with a decent offensive coordinator.

Obviously, the fumbled punts were a factor, but the most disturbing thing I saw today was McNabb. No way is he 100%. Not even close. He can barely move. He can't throw on the run. It seems he has a problem when he plants on that right leg to step into a throw... he just can't generate enough power to make the kinds of throws he used to make before.
Someone in a nearlier response wondered why they ran two draw plays after the late fumble. I'll tell you why... Reid knows McNabb couldn't get the ball down the field effectively. Look how many passes were batted down at the line of scrimage. OK. So now we know the REAL reason why the EAGLES drafted a QB. They're gonna need one, and sooner than later I'm sorry to say.

One game in, and it shows already. The Eagles are, as Bon Jovi sang, "Living On A Prayer," if they think that McNabb will last the full tilt of the season. His mobility was hampered by the injury from last season to the point it looked like the offensive line looked weak. If Andy and the coaches know what a fouled sparkplug can eventually do to an engine then maybe, just maybe now, they can get a tune-up before they blow a gasket then the whole race comes down to another "also-ran"finish.

Philly got beat by a horrible team. The Packers are a last place team with zero offense and little "D"
Andy Reed should be fired! T

I have always heard that Philly fans are intense, but loyal...the ones I am reading about are not! Give JR Reed a break. I would like to see how many of you could handle what he has gone through in his career. He had a good game, did his job. The fumble was a mistake, costly, but a mistake. Philly fans never mistakes at their jobs? There were lots of other issues throughout the game to create the outsome, not the last fumble. Its week 1. There is a whole sesaon left. Be intense, but be classy.

To all you Philly fans, we Packers have lived with Brett through thick and thin and we still do not critize him for a loss. Think about the 4-12 season we had with Brett's 18 interceptions. There were 11 starters out with injuries and yet the media blamed Brett for the losses. We as fans, however, still love the Packers and Brett. The Packers defense and special teams beat the Eagles and the outcome would have been the same regardless of how McNab played.By the way, McNab stated that Brett throws too many interceptions. Both he and Brett had one each in the game. McNab is not in the same league as Brett.

I did not know that the Eagles traded Donovan McNabb for Byron Leftwich? Because as Peter King says quite correctly, that is what Donovan looked like yesterday, and that is pretty pretty sad. Pathetic
