Philly Wants Its Super Bowl Back!

After the news that the Patriots have been proven to be a bunch of cheaters, one of my loyal readers over at The 700 Level volunteered his services. He was going to go back and watch the Eagles/Patriots Superbowl game in which the Pats found a way to keep Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook, and Terrell Owens in check . I've yet to receive my report regarding the Pats signal stealing.

But alas, all of our kidding aside, ESPN.com has an article today titled "Some Eagles question Pats tactics in Superbowl." Wow. For real? Brian Dawkins and Sheldon Brown smell something fishy.
"Do I think about it? Mmm hmmm," said Brown, their starting cornerback. "It's crazy. I just don't know how far back it goes. Something's not right about that."

[...]

"I was like, 'Man, I never saw that many screens,' " Brown said.

Brown wonders if it was normal playcalling from a team good enough to win three Super Bowls in four seasons, a Patriots team that used a strong scouting report to gain a fair edge, or was somebody picking up the Eagles defensive calls from a sideline camera that deprived them of a fair shot?
Hey, as the wise Chief Wampum once said, "where there's smoke, there's fire." I'm going to assume the Patriots cheated in the Superbowl and go to bed tonight and dream. It will be a glorious dream in which I can travel back in time and have that parade down Broad Street.

Reno Mahe, who is just damn giddy from being back on the Eagles, has a light hearted take on things, as he said with a smile, "I think they should forfeit, man. We won the Super Bowl. I think we should get it. I'm going to go trade my NFC championship ring for a Super Bowl ring."

Brian Westbrook on the other hand is too busy making defenses look silly to worry about it, "For me to think back two years ago about something they may or may not have done, it's not worth my time."
