The Jacksonville Jaguars' home game against the Atlanta Falcons will be blacked out on local television today because the game is not a sellout. That's trouble for coach Jack Del Rio, and for fans who want to watch the game but can't afford to buy a ticket.
But it's an even bigger shame for Hooters waitresses.
waitress Danielle Mulder ... and the other waitresses and the entire Southside Hooters restaurant cash in on game days.So if you live in the Jacksonville area and know a Hooters waitress, please reach out to her today. She may need some consoling.
"This past Sunday I made double what I would have made, and I'm sure the restaurant makes more than double with people sitting and drinking," says Mulder.
But now that the NFL has imposed a local TV blackout on Jacksonville for Sunday's game it means no game, no customers.

The Jaguars don't have any expensive free agents. Fans should be able to afford their tickets. By the way, whatever happened to corporate sponsorships as far as commericals. It seems like the Jaguars aren't taken in revenue with commericals. That's what they need to do. Hint, hint"beer commericals like Budweiser." equals beer sales. Then you can have people at Hooters, the bars, serving Budweiser beer. Do I have to spell it out myself? I'm a New York Yankees fan living in Miami. I can't afford to go to New York to watch the games. Instead I got to St. Peterburg to watch Tampa Bay Devil Rays home games when the Yankees play there. There are other ways around this as it looks like Jacksonville is not smart when it comes to marketing and revenue. Hooters waitresses shouldn't have to suffer.
