Did anyone really watch golf yesterday? I mean, other than people just flipping through the channels during football commercials?
Tiger Woods won the $1.26 million Tour Championship as well as the $10 million FedEx Cup, which was the PGA Tour's attempt at getting more people to pay attention to golf late in the year with a playoff-style format. Of course, we know Tiger is the best golfer on the planet, and we would have known that whether he won this silly FedEx Cup thing or not, and Tiger showed his disdain for the thing by skipping the first playoff event. Still, he tried to be a team player yesterday:
"Once you got into the playoffs, you're playing against the best guys and the hottest players. You have to play well," Woods said. "We had some great drama. In the end, it was a lot of fun for all of us."But yeah: It's football season, and some artificial playoff designed to get us to care about golf just isn't going to work.

Watching pro golf these days is absolute torture.
There just has to be a strictly enforced time limit on shots. Some of these guys are playing like a bunch of drunks after dark.

woody austin is saying what the media wished they had the stones to say about tiger woods. woody has played 394 events and has only won 3 over a period of 11 yrs.

Re Tiger winning the Fed Ex Cup which by the way I think is fantastic.
As the media states he is by far the best and we will never see another golfer in his league in my life time or for that matter ever.
Golfers like Sabattini etc. should say nothing until they come close to Tigers ability on the golf course. So they win the odd event, its still does not put them in Tiger's league.
Within the next five years comfortably I am sure Tiger can get to the top of the score board and break the record of won events, possiblly even sooner which would be even better.

I personally think that Tiger is the best. That goes beyond saying. I will watch him over any sports as long as he plays. He has done tremendously in golf than far any player in any sport that I know of . I hate sports but since Tiger I love the game. Stay as you are Tiger. YOU ARE THE BEST.

I think that Tiger made the Fedex cup look ridiculous. He has been the dominant player for the past 10 years... did they expect anything different this year?? They should just have given it to him at the beginning and then not have to go through all the rigamerole. As a matter of fact why not give him the 10 mil for the next 9 years say and get it done with. I have long ago given up watching Tiger playing golf because the results are so inevitable that they have become boring. Watching him charging, raging, grimacing around the course and arm punching at every hole like he has won WWIII doesn't grab me.

I am a hughe Tiger fan. It amazes me to watch him continually take the game to another level. Yes, I watched it during the lousy Charger/Patriot game which ended up as no competion to the golf cup.

I grew up with a father, husband and son who played basketball for a High School "Hall of Fame" coach. Golf was the very last sport that I ever thought I would enjoy enough to watch. And then Along came Tiger!! How lucky we are to be able to witness such greatness! He has done for golf what Ali did for boxing.. And then some...

IF THE PGA WANTS A DRAMATIC EVENT THEY SHOULD USE THE FOUR MAJORS EVENTS AND TOTAL THE POINTS SYSTEM
THEY ARE PRESENTLY USING. THEREFORE ASSURING, THAT ALL THE TOP PLAYERS WILL BE THERE.

Re comment No. 8, if that individual found the Fed Ex Tournament rediculous then why would that individual bother to watch it.
There are many more of us who love to watch a golfer of Tiger's caliber and love to see him win.
Only regret is that I will never be lucky enough to see him play in person.

Everyone has their own opinion about what's considered a sport and what's not. Golf is a sport just like football is a sport. In my opinion, no one can be the judge of that. Also, in my opinion, I choose to watch golf over football. To me, it's more exciting to watch than watching males hitting one another and running back and forth down a field for three hours. I love Tiger and I wish him all the best in his career. I hope he realizes that there are many fans of the game that consider him a great golfer and I hope that encourages him against all of these haters that wish they could come close to being the golfer he already is at 31 years of age. GO TIGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
