An interesting comment from a guy named "53 Bostic 53" at Extreme Skins forum has a few Redskins fans uneasy.I am disappointed, in fact shocked, that we PIPE CROWD NOISE IN. I don't how long that has been going on, but I think that is BUSH LEAGUE. Don't tell me that it didn't happen, it did. I am embarassed that my team has stooped to that level!Several of the people who replied to the comment also have said that they have heard crowd noise coming through the speakers against the Giants yesterday and in the Week 1 win over the Dolphins. I hope this isn't true [though, it probably is] since the Skins play in the NFL's largest stadium ... by far ... and have one of the league's most rabid fan bases.
I sit in 419, row 19. Last night was the first time I've noticed it. Maybe I've been too drunk in the past, I don't know. But the speaker set that is above like section 430 ish - obviously pumpin in crowd noise. It would come on when the crowd got louder, but then it would shut off suddenly. Some others that I spoke with after the game at ES will verify that it was going on.
Now, the NFL has a strict policy on artificial crowd noise ... even going as far as stopping stadium from even asking the crowd to get loud.
The home club does not have the prerogative to decide if such sound hampers signal calling. While spontaneous crowd noises may be beyond immediate control, noise of any kind (music, horns, gongs, drums, etc.) that is under club control must cease when the play clock (40 or 25 second) is running and the visiting team is in possession of the ball. Flagrant attempts by cheerleaders, mascots or the public-address system to encourage crowd noise for the purpose of disrupting the visiting team's offense while the play clock is running is prohibited. The use of noise meters or such messages as "Noise!," "Let's hear it!," "Raise the Roof," "Let's go Crazy," "Pump it up," "12th Man" are prohibited at any time during the game. These examples are not limited to the foregoing, but also would include similar messages that encourage crowds to make random noise in order to disrupt the opposition.Needless to say, if this is true than the Redskins will be getting a phone call from Emperor Goodell in the next few days.

I want to tell you that I went to the Redskins vs Giants game yesterday sitting in section 121. On the way to my seats there were signs hanging "Be the Redskins 12th man and roar when the away team has the ball" When I got to my seats only a few rows from the Giants bench I then noticed the "Jumbro Tron" advising fans to shout when the Giants had the ball and to BE QUIET when the Redskins offense was on the field so they could "Work" The crowd also liked constantly taunting the Giants "You Suck" I cannot imagine the stadium noise was that load (I put ear plugs in" on its own. I would say they were piping it through the speakers because the "start an d stop" of the noise was not fully "synched" with the crowd! I think it is a very bush league way of playing the game from fans and Redskin owners to try and cover up their clubs short comings on the field. I am shocked that Joe Gibbs would be a part of this! The sad thing is.....the Giants kicked their butts anyway and I had a happy train ride back to New Jersey last night!!!

The Redskins did it.,...they get the fans up and tell them to shout when the away team has the ball and to BE Quiet when the Redskins had the ball saying "Let the offense work" Signs in the stadium advertised be the 12th man scream when the away team has the ball on offense....bush way of playing....the stadium was bush league appearing...hard to believe Joe Gibbs would buy into this! But the Giants kicked their butts anyway. Note to the Redskin management....if you are unsure of your team...get better players....don't rely on bush league tactics to win ball games for you!

By the way I was in section 121 only a few short rows from the field. Players could not even talk to each other when the noise got loud!. They should make it a penalty against the home team AND ENFORCE IT...then we could see REAL football games!

Obviously it doesn't do the Redskin players any good. They should pipe in a competent coaching staff and some decent ballplayers.

Its not just the noise they're controlling. Saw nothing but headshots of the cheerleaders all weekend. Apparently we're being protected from seeing all those gorgeous figures. Don't know if its the liberal left militants, the far right bible thumpers, or the feminazis who are protecting us but the only way we're going to see these beauties below the head is by going to a game with a pair of binoculars. We were protected from these visuals by all the netwworks. This was not coincidental. God save us from those who know what is best for us.

All you Giant fans the Redskins didn't use any artificial noise. The Redskins 12th man is and always has been a part of Redskins football. In DC, we get LOUD. I can't believe people are actually buying into this as a possibility. This rumor was started on a GIANTS blog. Real credible non-biased source....right...

Why don't you just "rat" the skins out. Oh wait you already did. If we are piping noise at FedEx, let the league deal with it. Wow! unbelievable, no wonder we have the biggest stadium in the league, yet teams are still not afraid at all to play here. It's because some of are fans are idiots. Just hand your tickets in. Go SKINS!

Life long skins fan. Sit in section 430 and not only do they pipe in fan noise, they pipe in the advertisements as well. Its so loud you can't hear the guy next to you if he's yelling at the top of his lungs. Look, I am a fan and want the skins to win but we got 90,000 seats, it IS bush league to pipe in noise no matter what. We should be loud on D and quiet on Offense, that's what being at the game is all about, we don't need artificial fans.
