Honoring Sweet Lou Piniella (Ella, Ella)
With a three game lead in the NL Central, it's almost safe for Cubs fans to exhale and start making plans for the playoffs. (Not yet! Quit breathing, I said almost!)
So who's responsible for Chicago's turnaround this year? Is it Derrek Lee, who stayed (mostly) healthy and provided Gold Glove-caliber defense at first base? Alfonso Soriano, who's hit 12 home runs so far in September? Or is it Lou Piniella (ella, ella), who's inspirational tirades kept the team on track all season long?
I think the video speaks for itself. (Although invoking Mark Prior? I know it fits the rhyme scheme, but there's karma at risk here ...) That said, I still kind of like Rihanna's original video better -- she's just a little more ... photogenic.
