Culpepper Excited About Facing Dolphins

It looks like it's Daunte Culpepper Time in Miami this weekend. The former Pro Bowler and recent clipboard holder will likely get the start against the team that unceremoniously released him earlier this year. Culpepper has been biding his time behind Josh McCown in Oakland, primarily because he's still learning the offense.

But now, with McCown hobbled with myriad maladies, Culpepper should be under center against the Dolphins. And he sounds excited about the whole thing:
"I'm a Florida guy ... Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to play healthy in front of the people down there in Miami. I feel like now I get a chance to show them I am healthy."
The Dolphins don't seem overly concerned about a possibly resurgent Culpepper. Miami linebacker Channing Crowder:
"He's still limping around,'' said Crowder, when asked about former teammate Culpepper. "He's not 100 percent. He's still not the Daunte Culpepper of back with Minnesota.''
Maybe, but he can't be in worse shape than McCown, who has a fractured left toe, a sprained right foot and a fractured right index finger. Luckily, quarterback is the deepest position on the team, so even without Culpepper and McCown, Oakland has options. None of that matters to J. Peezy, though, because unless Kenny Stabler walks through that door, it's going to be a Dolphins' victory. Put it on the board. Championship.
