Clearly, fans in Cleveland are a little put off by LeBron James wearing a Yankees hat to the Indians' game last night, and honestly, I think they have a point. This isn't Tom Brady walking around town wearing a Yankees hat caught on film by the paparazzi, this is LeBron James flaunting his allegiance to a rival team on television. My favorite reaction so far? Former Indians pitcher and Hall of Famer Bob Feller:
"I'm going to a Cavaliers game and sit right by their bench, wearing a Detroit Pistons cap. Let's see how LeBron likes that."Personally, I don't see what the big deal is. LeBron is a front-runner, not a fan. There's a huge difference. He's a Yankees fan, Bulls fan and Cowboys fan ... and I'm willing to guess at some point in his childhood he pined after a Miami Hurricanes lunchbox. If the Indians really want LeBron to wear a hat, they'll need to win a title first.
But c'mon, is anyone actually surprised? LeBron has had everything come to him on a silver platter, he has absolutely nothing in common with being an underdog. Goliath doesn't cheer for David -- he wouldn't even know how.

Lebron is a carpetbagger. A wannabe, the nouveaux rich always like the Yankees. They think it’s cool. It’s a complex thing.

He's a child with a need for attention. His immature action of wearing a Yankee Hat in Cleveland's house is insulting. But he doesn't care because he has the bucks and needs the attention. I'd suggest that when he plays at home for the first few games the fans wear the rival's hats and boo the baby. Perhaps then he will remember to respect the city he plays in.

Comments were made about him being a role model. He has no class, playing in this town and cheering for the Yankees. Even Queen Latifa said she liked Yankess but would never dream of doing what LeBronx did. Role model my ass, by the way, If he is a role model why doesn't he marry the mother of his two children.

Yes, LeBron can root for whomever he wants -- it's a free country. But wearing a Yankees hat when he knew he'd be on television?? Immature and un-wise. LeBron diminished himself and disrespected the city who - formerly - worshipped him. Fans won't forget a slight like that, particularly loyal fans who've waited years and years for a Champion team. Pistons gear will sell out in Cleveland before the next Cavs home game.

Could care less that he's a front runner. Can't
stand anybody that does it. Bulls/Yankees/Cowboys.
What a class act. Maybe he should be looking at
tapes from the San Antonio series.

La Shithead wearing a yankees cap is really nothing more than exercising his constitutional right of free expression. He has tarnished his image and lost respect from most of Believelanders. He clearly shows a lack of appreciation for those who made him...his high school and coaches in NE Ohio, his team ownership and fellow Cavs. Doing this and not marrying the woman who bore him two kids out of wedlock says what kind of a man he is. He is not a man yet...just a spoiled kid with two much money and managers who dont give a crap. The best thing Nike and other companies can do is strip him of endorsements. Growing up as a poor kid with criminal parents has taken a toll on him and manifests his lack of parental nurturing. Queen Latifa said it all..."when you are in someone else's house - show respect." He should sit down with her and have a talk about respect. Too error is human,...to fogive is stupid !!!

LeBron isn't a front-runner, he's been a Ynakees and Cowboys fan all his life. Still, it was a class-less move to show up wearing a Yankees cap . My first thought was "Well, if he doesn't mind an Indian wearing a Spurs cap to the NBA finals, why should I care?" But the more I thought about it, no Indian would wear a Spurs cap to the game, even if they were a fan. They have too much class for that.

One other thing, had it been a bench-player for the Cavs that wore a Yankees cap to the game, he'd find his sorry butt shipped off to the Knicks in a heartbeat. That couldn't be good now that they have $11 million less to pay the players.

I think this city is full of babies in adult bodies with all this whining about a man being HONEST and TRUE about what he likes and doesn't like. As long as he loves the Cavs, the team he truly represents, then love your Yankees LeBron. Don't let the ignorance of others, including Trivisonno and his crew along with the pack of fair-weather Cavs fans that are upset with you, cause you to change who you are. After all, last I checked, honesty was a good quality. Maybe they want you to become completely antagonistic to the fans and media like some others have become and only care about the money - more than the win. I applaud you Lebron.
To those that assume you should be able to control the team he roots for...what a "pimp-ish" mentality and there's another word I could use. I didn't think when you joined a sports team you sold your soul to the people. Well if that's the case what string will you "good old boys" pull next? Shame on you, sit down, shut up and enjoy the Indians! Don't steal their glory with nonsense. Right now, Lebron and the rest of the Yankee fans are taking a beating by our Indians.
The Indians are winning - and that has nothing to do with whether LeBron is a fan or not; they're a great team and its our time! Simple as that.
PS - I keep in mind that you are still a person LeBron, behind the stardom with PERSONAL likes and dislikes just like all of us. Who are we to try to take that away from you? Oh, and yes, when you like the team, you wear the sportswear (hats included) - duh!

Queen Latifah was absolutely right with her view point, show respect. LeBron is obviously immature and did what I would expect a 22 year old to do.What would we all look like coming to a Cavs game rooting for the Pistons

Before long Ohio is going to get the reputation of producing high dollar athletes that have no respect or morals. LeBron James is an athelete - who is supposed to be "professional". Some day he will wake up and learn he is not all that and a bag of chips. Trent Cole is another Ohio prodigy - excellent athlete but graduated with my son - or at least it appeared he did - but to have the grades to make it into UC - no way. At least Trent treats his home town with respect. Smart move for you LeBron to go straight to the NBA - because with your attitude -college would of ate you alive.

This situation is exactly what he said in the beginning....big freaking deal. So what? Just because an athlete plays on one team that he must support the other atletic teams. Why should Lebron cheer for his team in private? He goes and plays ball every night and does what he was asked. Play some damn good ball for the fans of cleavland. If he wants to cheer for the Yankees, then good for him. I am not going to be all pissy if any other player cheered for a team that wasn't a team from the same city. Big freaking deal.
