Really, Marty, is that the best you could do? Could you not get Joe Namath or Terry Bradshaw out of retirement? How about Dan Marino or Boomer Esiason? Could you not get them away from CBS for one more go?
How much does Vinny Testaverde even know about Jeff Davidson's offense? Sure, they were both in New England, but not at the same time. That automatically qualifies this geezer to back up a hurting David Carr and rookie Matt Moore?
Seriously, Marty, if you were going to go geezer, you were probably better off with Clint Damn Dolezel. He's at least seen game action and thrown some touchdowns recently. Sure, he throws off his back foot a lot, just like every other Arena Football quarterback. How does that make him so different from Jake Delhomme?
Say a prayer for Matt Moore's continued health, Panthers fans. You're going to need it.

5. Vinny?! Vinny Testaverde?1?! Dave Warner, do you remember when I said that the Panthers should trade for Chris Simms? Well, his accuracy may sucks but even he would have been a better choice then Vinny, although it really doesn't matter cause Simms is on IR. And by the way, when was the last time Vinny tossed a TD?

6. The Panthers sent Stefan LeFors to Canada. Looks like they should have thought about that. Baby Jake knew the offense and while not stereotypical QB in size is a student of the game.

7. I'm not sure that David Carr shouldn't be Vinnie's backup.....At least Vinnie has a distant memory of a win.

8. wow...over-reaction David...Vinny/Vinnie/Vin-E...whatever, will be a serviceable backup to a POS backup in Carr...the F-up came in the offseason...not today with this signing. David Carr is damaged goods, we should have known better...VT will be fine...just don't expect him to scamble. I think he will be a game manager...which if you happened to watch any of our games over the last 4 years, seems to be exactly what Fox wants...the inability to pull the trigger and step on a competitor's neck is classic foxy ball...VT should serve that role very well.
