Forget Tim Donaghy and Isiah Thomas, this is the bombshell that the NBA couldn't bear. No doubt with a heavy heart, The Bog's reporting that Gilbert Arenas employs questionable Halo3 strategies. Hopefully, the following makes sense to some of you: I was first alerted to this budding scandal via Reader Eli, who wrote with the tales of Gilbert's Halo3 adventures. Using one of his three gamer tags (Agent Arenas is one), he'll start a two-on-two "social" game with a friend, each using a phony teammate. Once the game starts, the two phony players are eliminated, and the real players take turns beating up each other to drive up their experience points. This is already all over the video game community, might even end up on PTI later. For his part, Arenas thinks he's just exploiting a glitch. One that others are taking advantage of, and that therefore he should, too. That should tell you just how little PEDs have to do with basketball; no baseball or football player would ever be caught parroting that logic to anyone about anything.
"I love Gil," Eli wrote, "and it's almost laughable what he's doing."
In other news, I am putting an asterisk on my pair of the Halo GilIIZeroes. Unless Gil wants to buy mine back from me at a mark-up!
