Even though we don't yet know where the Yankees' front office stands on Joe Torre -- though we do know, audibly, where Suzyn Waldman stands -- potential replacements are already being bandied about. Don Mattingly? Not comfortable. Joe Girardi? Too young? And Lou Piniella, long-time Yankee favorite? Not interested, thank you very much:
"He's extraordinarily happy managing the Cubs," said Alan Nero, Piniella's agent. "I can't see any circumstance in which Lou is not in a Cubs uniform next year."Cynic that I am, I would think that if Torre was fired early next week and the Yankees' job was suddenly open, Piniella would be slightly more pliable toward the possibility. Until then, though, he remains the Cubs' skipper, and a few irrational Cubs fans can go on hating him for taking Carlos Zambrano out an inning too early. Everything is in its right place.
"Last year it was the same controversy," Nero said. "Lou is not interested in upsetting Joe. He took the Cubs job in good faith, and he's not at all unhappy. There's nothing to it."

The feeling is mutual, Lou couldn't bring anything to the table anyways. Thanks but no thanks.

Lou, in my humble opinion,is one of the best in the business and he isn't going anywhere.
He's only been in Chicago one season. To leave now would forever tarnish his reputation. Would he secretly rather be a Yankee? Probably. Most would. But he signed with the Cubs and he is a honorable man. He will give it more than a year, I have no doubt.
Cincinnati was crazy to let him slip through their hands and leave.

PostmanE,
While I have called you out on a couple of issues of late, I wanted to publicly tell you that I acknowledge that it's easy to criticize from the readers end.
I'm sure if I tried writing in this format that I would eventually also make mistakes and make points that, in hindsight, I wish that I had thought through more thoroughly.
I'm sure it gets frustrating being picked apart when your just trying to write a story and create a friendly debate on issues in the news today.
This Fan House format is new to all of us and you should be allowed a certain amount of breathing room in the process.
I'm sure your Momma and Poppa are proud of their son, as they should be.
But just remember that using spell check is not a sign of weakness. We all use it from time to time, weather we want to admit it or not

Case in point, I made several grammical errors just in the above post alone.
For example:
I used "your" when I should have used "you're".
And countless others, I am sure

Hey Lou, don't listen to that jerkoff PostmanE.
We love you as our Cubbie. Remmber there's always next year and that would be 100.
