People are coming out of the woodwork to offer their advice on how to fix the train wreck that is the 2007 Miami Dolphins. I'm sure Cam Cameron curses Chargers GM A.J. Smith daily for waiting so long to fire Marty Schottenheimer (I'm guessing San Diego fans have a similar routine). If Marty was canned in January, Cameron could be coachin' up the Chargers and he too could laugh at the debacle taking place in South Florida.
It is what it is, though, and now it's about fixing this mess. Jimmy Johnson took time out from fixing his hair to offer some pointers on how to get things turned around:
* Draft defense with your No. 1 pick, unless you don't believe John Beck is your long-term QB;And don't even bring up GM Randy Mueller's recent personnel moves. That'll just make The Hair angry: ''Please, some of the decisions,'' he said. "Not tendering Wes Welker to at least get a No. 1 pick in return? They [give up] one of the best punters in the league [ Donnie Jones] for a seventh-rounder.
* Make cornerback a top priority;
* Don't spend on high-priced free agents next spring;
* Probably keep Jason Taylor, 33, and Zach Thomas, 34, because "you're not going to get a No. 1 or No. 2 pick for players at that age. If you're not going to get a value pick, build around them."
The two corners voted the best in Dolphins history -- Patrick Surtain and Sam Madison -- they let both go, and that's what they need more than anything. Joey Porter? I'm not even going there. That's a head-shaker. It goes on and on.''
Good God, when did everybody suddenly sour on Porter? Weren't some of the media hens cackling that the Steelers would regret letting that guy go? To Johnson's credit, though, he won't be offering owner Wayne Huizenga any advice because "I recommended Nick Saban and screwed up." Which, as best I can tell, is something the current front office is having trouble with: recognizing screw ups.

PREACH IT JIMMY..!!
IF ONLY YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH DAN MARINO'S FEELINGS, YOU'D STILL BE IN MIAMI!
Dan didn't want to give up his starting role and become a mentor to who was suppose to replace him (dude in KC).
so what happens?
dude goes to KC, you retire, then Dan retires, and we get Jay Feidler (who wasn't a bad QB) & Dan Wannstadt (who was a bad coach).
if Dan had been a man and just admitted what everyone else knew (his starting days were way behind him.. I mean, how many interceptions for td's did he throw his last 3 years?)), Miami wouldn't be in the shape they're in now.
give me an A-MEN..!!

Dan Marino was bigger than Jimmy(hairspray) Jonhson. The sad part is Jimmy never gave Marino the running game he promised and stilled tried to run the ball. Jimmy would not even let Marino audible and remember New England knew most of the Dolphins plays. Jimmy was terrible for the Dolphins and Marino won a lot more games than he lost for the Dolphins. Miami has gone through 11 QB's since Marino, so get off his Hall Of Fame Back because he was the man not Jimmy no Hall of Fame Johnson. A-men
