DeAngelo Hall Will Not Talk to You - FanHouse - AOL Sports Blog

I think this pretty much says it all:

"I ain't doing nothing the rest of the season," the Atlanta Falcons cornerback[, DeAngelo Hall,] said Wednesday when approached by a reporter. "I'm done talking."

Hall could've stopped after the first sentence and no one would've batted an eye. When not acting like a preening jackass, Hall can actually come off as smart, thoughtful, and genuine. Those moments are fleeting, and often replaced by EVIL DEANGELO, but it just proves that he's not the numbnut he often wants everybody to assume he is.

His latest battle -- locking horns with first-year head coach Bobby Petrino -- has already cost the Falcons a win, and Hall one-hundy large. Now, though, the guy known for not being able to keep his yap shut, promises to do just that. And some of his teammates even think he can pull it off (sort of):

"I think he can do it because he knows everybody is watching him and looking for him to break it," Mughelli said. "He's going to do his best to prove you guys wrong. It's going to be interesting, but I ain't putting any money on it."

I always thought Hall was overrated as an NFL cornerback, partly because he's forever getting burned, and also because he's always flapping his gums. There are plenty of other defensive backs worse at their jobs than Hall, but they have the common sense to not draw attention to themselves.

It'll be interesting to see what happens this off-season -- whether Hall ends up elsewhere, or stays with the Falcons (I have to think it's the former). Save Dan Snyder, I can't see anybody giving him a ridiculous new contract, but weirder things have happened.
