Three weeks ago, some moron wrote a post here at FanHouse entitled, "Is Adrian Peterson Overrated?" As they so often do, the commenters here at FanHouse proved that they were smarter than the blogger, with well-reasoned rebuttals such as this:
Dude ima packer fan but hey man give credit where credits due....Whats up with the negativity...DAMN MAN THE GUYS NASTY....HE IS NOT OVERRATEDAnd this:
MDS is a tabloid journalist who vents here because the National Enquirer doesn't have a sports page, yet
And this:
AP is leading the NFL in rushing yards and he SPLITS TIME WITH CHESTER TAYLOR!!!!!!!! AP barley gets 20 carries a game. I'm not going to look it up, but I dought he even averages 20 carries a game. Overrated! Dude you must have swallowed a bottle of stupid pills!
Today I'm here to report that after reading those insightful comments, watching Peterson break the all-time single-game rushing record, and having Kim Etheredge take me to the hospital to have the stupid pills pumped from my stomach, I'm now ready to answer the question I asked three weeks ago: No, Adrian Peterson is not overrated. Yes, I now worship

And after all those people say hes gonna be a bust that gets injuried alot, what happens? Purple Jesus now has over 1000 yards in just over half a season AND the single game rushing record. I would call him the steal of the draft, even at #7

Hey Vikings fans, the future is now. We need to acquire a good veteran quarterback to lead the passing attack, then AP is going to run wild every Sunday. I predict he will break the 300 yard game rushing barrier before the end of the season. We also need to trade for some quality defensive backs to help us defend against the Tom Brady's & Peyton Manning's of the NFL. Otherwise, we will never win the BIG game...

I can appreciate what AP has done as much as the next guy. Definitely proven he is not overrated. Dude is a beast!! However, I predict he will not get 300 before the end of the year. Or even another 200 game. In fact, looking at the schedule, I think it would be a challenge to average 100/game over the rest of the schedule. That would still have him checking in nicely with 1,800+

Yesterday, I spoke to a big Oklahoma football fan, who goes to all their games, even the ones on the road. At Oklahoma, they referred to Adrian Peterson as A.D., short for All Day. With Oklahoma football condtioning, by the fourth quarter most of the opposition defensive team was worn out. This is where A.D. excelled. His conditioning allowed him to run All Day to daylight.
A few weeks ago, AD did not rack up big yardage because he didn't get into many plays. I blame that on the coach. AD will become the Michael Jordan of football.

I've watched the Vikings a few times now this year, my question to Vikings fans: how did Childress draw up his quaterback depth chart? Was what happened during pre-season that much different than what has happened so far during the regular season?
I watched Brooks Bollinger with the Jets - I know his limitations, but I also know he brings a bit more to the table than your typical NFL analyst gives him credit for (Brian Baldinger, Dan Dierdorf, Shannon Sharpe, Emmitt Smith, why is the list of awful "analysts" so seemingly endless?).
Bollinger obviously gives the team a better chance than Tarvaris "incomplete pass" Jackson. And Kelly Holcomb hasn't looked much better (seriously, isn't this guy still getting by on the reputation of a couple 400-yard games?).
I've always had a little place in my fanhood for the Vikings (even before the Herschel Walker trade) going back to Tommy Kramer, Darrin Nelson, Keith Mallard, Anthony Carter, Chris Doleman, some players I really enjoyed watching in the mid-to-late eighties when my true team gave me little to enjoy watching. Anyway, this is just to say: Vikings, please get your QB - and stay in Minnesota - and play your games outdoors! :-)

Didn't you get them memo? AP will no longer be referred to as Purple Jesus. He will be known simply as Jesus while Jesus of Nazareth will be called Carpenter Jesus.

MDS-
Kudos are due to you! A positive article! I am impressed, sincerely! I will even forgive the sensationalist headline you posted during the 35W bridge collapse "After Bridge Collapse, Vikings Owner Zygi Wilf Still Wants Public Stadium Money".
You found Jesus and have earned a redemtion point.
P.S. I will not criticize you for writing any negative...um, truthful articles about "The Little Major".
