I mentioned earlier that Minnesota could be in Donovan McNabb business come the off-season, but they're certainly not the only team interested in the Eagles quarterback. NFC North rival Chicago is also an option, but as the Chicago Sun-Times' Mike Mulligan writes, it's not clear that McNabb, who is from the area, would be interested.
A source close to McNabb said earlier this year that the ship on such a move might have sailed because the Bears didn't have a lot to offer on offense. The offensive line is aging. They don't have a top- flight running back. And other than at tight end, the receiving corps -- wide receivers and backs -- would need a major upgrade to attract a front-line quarterback.Hard to refute any of that. Plus, as Mulligan notes, who knows if Chicago will even be in the market for a quarterback come spring. That's not to say they shouldn't be; Rex Grossman and Brian Griese aren't long-term solutions, and Kyle Orton, while probably the most attractive choice, isn't necessarily a guy you want to build a team around.
Even if the Bears manage to land McNabb, how long until they have to think about replacing him? One NFL executive suggested that McNabb would be a stopgap in the mold of Steve McNair in Baltimore, which falls under the soft bigotry of low expectations, I think.
In the short term, though, McNabb's not a bad way to go. Especially if he can be had for a third-round pick.

The Bears dont need Mcnabb. They have that type of talant now why trade for the same. They need to fire the offensive coordinater Ron Turner for going through each game blindfolded. Draft someone new or let grossman call his own game. Or let Kyle Orton have a crack he did win like 9 or 10 games as a rookie didnt he but know one ever talks about that.

mcnabb is absolutely horrible. he loses games for the eagles. can't throw. can't find the open receiver. fumbles the ball over and over. and now he can't run. and yes, he is not a leader. i can not watch him anymore, stand on the field with his goofy smile, or pointing to the sky when he misses wide open receivers. please, chicago----take him and end my mysery.
he stinks and the eagles, with andy reid as the coach will never win.

Donovan McNabb if he leaves Philadelphia belongs playing on a contender for a Super Bowl instead of being a stop gap quarterback for the Bears.

Boy, these guys don't appreciate a good quarterback when they see one. McNabb has led them to the playoffs consistently and is an outstanding quarterback. His problems have been injuries, but I wouldn't trade him for many QBs.

Wow......i am surprised and disgusted with what has been said about McNabb. I don't know where you have been for the past few years but i recall D nabb getting us to the NFC championship game 3 times and also to the super bowl. Its obvious that you don't watch the games and are just goin by what the critics say, because its not NcNabbs fault that his WR won't catch a ball. The only help on offesne he is getting is from Brian Westbrooke and somtimes Kevin Curtis decides to catch a ball. Watch the game and Know your facts before speaking
