Jazz Lead NBA in Season Tickets Sold

Who has the hottest ticket in the NBA? If you guessed the Utah Jazz, you would be correct. (You also would have amazing reading comprehension, seeing as I just mentioned it in the headline.) According to the Sports Business Journal (via The Biz of Basketball), the Jazz lead all NBA teams with 14,500 full-season tickets sold.
Fueling the Jazz's rise to the top of the league is an increase of 5,400 new full-season packages sold to date, the second-highest one-year gain in league history. That figure represents $6.5 million in revenue, team officials said.

The 5,400 new full-ticket plans come after the Jazz raised prices by an average of 5 percent. The Golden State Warriors are close behind the Jazz in new full-season-ticket sales with 5,200 sold this year.
I guess the fact that Utah and Golden State paced the league in new ticket sales shouldn't be a huge surprise: both franchises exceeded expectations in the playoffs last year, with the Jazz advancing to the Western Conference Finals and the Warriors knocking off the top-seeded Mavericks.

Plus, I have to imagine there's just not all that much to do in Salt Lake City during the winter, at least among entertainment-seekers looking to stay indoors. I realize that's a generalization, but it's true, especially considering it's a one-team town when it comes to major professional sports. But the Jazz aren't alone: SBJ also notes an 8% 8% of tickets sales league-wide, with 12 franchises topping the 10,000 full-season tickets sold mark.
