Man Arrested in Steroid Bust Claims Ties to Cowboys, Falcons

A man who has been arrested as part of "Operation Raw Deal," a federal crackdown on steroids, claims that he has ties to players on the Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons.

CBS 11 in Dallas reports
that a trainer named David Jacobs is accused of conspiracy to possess anabolic steroids with the intent to distribute, and that Jacobs claims he has worked with players on the Cowboys and Falcons. So far, however, Jacobs has not named any players he worked with, and it's possible that he may have trained players without giving them steroids.

There's a perception among many sports fans that the NFL gets a free pass when it comes to performance-enhancing drugs, that when football players are connected to steroids the story doesn't get the kind of attention that the same story would get if it pertained to baseball. If NFL players really are connected to Operation Raw Deal, this is a story that won't be ignored.
