I was stricken with depression this weekend. You see, after Notre Dame beat Duke on Saturday for their second win of the season, and first at home, there was a great inner conflict inside my soul.On one hand I was happy that the Irish actually won a game, but at the same time I was depressed by the fact a victory over Duke caused so much happiness.
It's just been an absolutely gut-wrenching season to be a Notre Dame fan in 2007. I keep searching for possible answers to all the problems the team has, but I can't find any. Jimmy Clausen has performed well lately, but it all came in garbage time against Air Force and against Duke. That's not exactly a sign of greatness to come.
Charlie Weis is also searching for answers, and his search is going to take him back to New England. Charlie wants to talk with his old buddies about what he's doing wrong in South Bend.
Charlie Weis will do some serious self-evaluation after this season. Then the Notre Dame coach will let his old coaching buddies on the New England Patriots put their two cents in.I'm not sure what the Patriots could tell Charlie though. I mean, other than start taping your opponent's practices and find another Tom Brady.
"I think that those guys would have no problem telling me what things I did right and what things I did wrong," Weis said Sunday. "I think those resources, those people, because we're close enough and have a very close relationship won't be afraid of saying to me, 'What the heck are you doing?' And that's what I want. I want somebody to be able to tell me, to say it like that. And I know that those guys would do that."

1. Charlie might be using his contact for advice as an excuse to see if the Pats would re hire him should he decide to leave Notre Dame.
I mean really, Charlie has the decided schematic advantage so why would he need to go consult with his old buds for advice.

3. the only thing Weis is doing is begging for his job becasue he will be fired in a week or two. Patriots are too busy now, so its stupid to think they would spend time with Weis while they are in the middle of a run to a perfect season and a 4th suprbowl title,,,Weis has some bad energy stuck on him and the Patriot dont need none of that...eveyone should wait until march to have this conversation

It's just a shame when you have big colleges sneaking around academic qualifications especially when they already go by the NCAA minimum.Then you have colleges that require a much higher standard than the NCAA minimum WOW!! and guess what the teams that require minimum have better teams with most of their atheletes barely getting by with lots of help!
Notre Dame atheletes are very bright and in many seasons passed they still had a great football team.

10. You know no other program in the country can have a season this bad and still be talked about this much.. ND is that special, it is the only football program in the country that funds the entire sports program at its university. That’s both men and women’s programs people. I never thought Coach Willingham should have been fired at ND, but I was happy that Weis was taking over. This season might be the worst I have ever seen as an Irish fan. But I know it won’t stay this way. Make no mistakes the powers that be know what needs to be done and it isn’t a change at head coach. It’s experience and a serious influx of talent at skill positions. And that is coming with the top recruiting class in the country. Blog all you want about the demise of ND football. I will still be there every Saturday with my sons cheering the Irish on, just like my father did with his father and his father did with his.

Weis was probably meeting with the Patriots for more pointers on how to cheat properly.
