According to Rotoworld, the Kansas City Chiefs are preparing to shut Larry Johnson down for the remainder of the 2007 season. An outcome that was speculated back on November 6th, but was later questioned when Johnson claimed he was going to return.Sources close to Larry Johnson indicate that the Chiefs and their star runner are expecting to shut Johnson down for the season. And although nothing is official yet, it looks like Fox 31 in Colorado had it right in the first place.
The decision was apparently made before the results of a Monday MRI are revealed. While the news may not officially announced right away, the team and Johnson were looking at a best case scenario in which Johnson would return for a few meaningless games.

Further proof he was nothing without Willie Roaf and a stud O-line. I guess now he and Shaun Alexander can cry and dream of the good old days with the best O-line's in the NFL

LJ had over 1700 yards rushing last year without Willie Roaf.
The Chiefs are not just missing one Hall of Fame offensive lineman, our O-Line coach was made the Offensive Coordinator (of which hes doing a horrible job)so he's not spending time with the line anymore, Will Shields, our OTHER Hall of Fame lineman retired last year. Our Center is in his last year.
Our offensive line has completely disintegrated this year.
Barry Sanders and Eric Dickerson are pretty much the only backs that have been successful without a decent O-line.

Rest LJ remainder of year. Trade him to a team where he can flourish like Moss and T.O. are doing once they found good teams. Edwards only wants to play defense. The Chiefs are going nowhere this year or next year.

They should have traded him at the beginning of the season. There were whispers of what a cancer he would be if he got a big contract. They should have traded him and rebuilt the O-line with the picks.
