When the Detroit Lions hired Mike Martz as their offensive coordinator 20 months ago, it seemed like the perfect fit. This was a team that supposedly had great talent at wide receiver, and Martz was the guru of the passing game when he was the coach of the Rams. But it turned out that most of the wide receiver talent wasn't very good (Roy Williams is the only player who's still around), and even though they've added Mike Furrey, Shaun McDonald and Calvin Johnson, three guys who are good, the offense is still mediocre. And with the Lions heading into today's game on a two-game losing streak, Martz is getting some of the blame.
So that raises an interesting question: Could Martz be on the way out in Detroit? A year and a half ago most Lions fans would have thought that if Martz was leaving after 2007, it would have been because he did such a good job that he was going to get a head-coaching job somewhere. Now some Lions fans are wondering if Martz should get canned.
Drew Sharp of the Detroit Free Press writes that Martz and the Lions could "be headed for an early divorce." With a poor showing today, a lot of fans would welcome that.

Mike Martz has yet to receive credit for disabling negative attitude players for P.M.A. positve mental attitude players not just excuse for their talent.
