Yowwww! Says Powers:
I was in the back of the end zone celebrating close to the police dog, and I felt something bite me. The policeman was standing there like nothing was happening, and then I saw some blood gushing through my glove.Yeah, the part that kills me is the cop hits Powers with a "Why are you messing with my dog?" look before moving Fido off to a different part of the field.
The crowd was laughing at me and pointing, and then my teammates were laughing at me and that was all they were talking about on the sidelines for the last two minutes of the game. That was embarrassing.
Don't worry too much about Powers' health, though:
I won't need stitches or anything like that. I think they're trained to not bite down too far under the skin.They say the Bama-Auburn game is a blood rivalry, but come on... this is getting ridiculous.

2. The police officer should be suspended and made to apologize. His job is to make sure the dog is under control at all times, not in/near or on the playing field. He's just like the refs...they never see what is in front of them !!!

3. So unnecessary to have swat team and bititng dogs
on the sideline of a football game. Police are
necessary but this is a good example of why dogs should not be allowed on the field, innocent people
get hurt. Reminds me of gestapo.

4. What on earth is a dog doing on the field? Those fans could hurt it badly in a big celebration. Some of those fans have big teeth and small brains

5. YOU CAN SEE THAT THE SORRY ASS COP DIDN'T EVEN MAKE AN ATTEMPT TO PULL THE DAMN DOG BACK. I'D HAVE KNOCKED ALL OF IT'S TEETH OUT THAT I POSSIBLY COULD HAVE AND THEN TURNED ON THE COP. CONTROL YOUR KIDS OR YOUR ANIMALS OR I WILL.

10. The police officer should be givin a 5 day no pay suspension.the dog should be givin rabbies test and powers should get a lawyer and sue the cop the town and police dept.

12. What the c=devil is a dog like that doing in the endzone. The cop and the dog need to be suspended. If your dog did that you would be lucky if they spared his life. This is a dog trained to kill. When is it going to be the law applies to everyone ESPECIALLY the COPS

17. sorry ass cop? Redneck? Suspended? I think this was just a unfortunate accident. This dog did not know anything but someone was coming at him running and only acted on instinct like he was trained to do. If that had been a terroist or someone meaning to do harm to the 100,000 people in the stadium and this dog done the same thing everyone would be hailing him a hero, and there would be a parade in his honor next week.

18. The dog saw the player as a threat running up to the policeman. He reacted as he had been taught. Of course the dog has had all his shots............those are very valuable dogs and well taken care of............that little nip on the finger will not hurt whatshisname.........The way the fans act now days they probably NEED dogs and maybe machine guns to control them.

20. That cop should be suspended for being an jerk. I realize if all cops who were jerks were suspended there wouldn't be a police force left, but should that be our problem? I doubt this kid would sue the cop but, if the reporting of this story is accurate, he probably could. I would. Let the cop know that just because he has a badge doesn't mean he is permitted to be an insensitive jerk when it was his problem to fix in the first place.
