With :04 left in the Bengals-Titans game, Titans running back LenDale White was angry about a late hit ... approached the official and then kicked Bengals' safety Marvin White. Both players earned a flag for personal fouls.
Rob Bironas was attempting a FG when the Bengals used a timeout to freeze him. When CBS came back to the game, analyst Steve Beuerlein was in the middle of finishing off his conversation with "USC thugs, man" making it on the air. Play-by-play man Bill Macatee then quickly went to the call of Bironas' FG attempt.
During the Titans kickoff to the Bengals (which ended the half) or of video of Titans' QB Vince Young leaving early to the locker room, Beuerlein didn't say anything.
LenDale White went to USC. Beuerlein went to rival Notre Dame in the mid-1980s.
Now, who knows what Beuerlein was talking about before that quote made the air. Maybe it was something someone else said to him or just repeating something he overheard. However, "USC thugs, man" made it on air before he was silenced.

Lets see, which players commit double homicide and then armed robbery to revcover sports memorabilia or take $750,000 in illegal benefits??? I'd say "thugs" was a nice way of putting it

Let's keep in mind that White just kicked a guy when he was down, that's not exactly the action of an upstanding young gentleman.

Many would say Bush is a thug... At best, he is a shameless cheater. However, the numerous arrests of USC players, including QB Mark Sanchez, under Carrol's watch-- for counts like sexual assault, rape, assault with a deadly weapon, and battery-- certainly corroborate Beuerlein's opinion. C'mon, in 2005, these idiots even got into a brawl with themselves. With that type of behavior, no wonder USC has earned the reputation of being thugs. Combine that with the numerous recruiting and NCAA compliance violations, that program could challenge Miami in terms of pure filth and corruption. Seriously, two letters: O.J.

Great Mark Sanchez comment...if u knew anything u would know that the charges were dropped. The girl woke up and cooked him and his then roommate Brian Cushing breakfast the next morning. I know because Im friends with both him and the girl and it was a sick attempt by a girl to save face with her friends. All of u fail to understand the basic American right of "Innocent until proven guilty" With Sanchez, Bush, and OJ.

USC hasn't had any NCAA sanctions, kids in trouble or in the news for any reason other than football or national championships.
The Reggis Bush thing doesn't have an ounce of truth to it.

Did you call Reggie a cheat? How about Jerome Bettis admitting he faked an injury to not get cut by the steelers? If that isn't the lowest of lows!

Five University of Florida players were arrested after winning the national championship.
Six Texas Longhorn players have been arrested since June of this year.
Twenty Ole Miss players are on probation for stealing items from hotels.
In September, an Ohio State backup quarterback was arrested for soliciting a prostitute.
In March, two Illinois players were in a car crash - police found stolen goods in their vehicle.
In September, three Mizzou players were arrested over twelve days for three separate assults.
In July, a UCLA assistant coach was arrested for residential burglary. Also in July, the Rutgers assistant head coach was arrested for domestic violence. Not a good month for assistant coaches.
And here's a good run-down of how several programs looked - on the police blotter - at the start of the season. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/columnist/lopresti/2007-08-22-lopresti-college-football_N.htm
In the meantime, USC players have had no skirmishes with the law in 2007. The most recent incident was Mark Sanchez, and the evidence exonerated him in June 2006.
Beuerlein is an unprofessional hack who should know mikes are live. If CBS cared about ITS integrity, they should serve up his head on a platter.

this really is a non-issue. I'm sure he was just making a joke. Everyone takes jabs at their rivals. I'm sure at some point a Michigan alum broadcaster took a jab at some OSU player or vice versa.
