After being shot in a home invasion early Monday morning, Redskins safety Sean Taylor is dead. From the AP Report:
"His father called and said he was with Christ and he cried and thanked me," said [Richard] Sharpstein, Taylor's former lawyer. "It's a tremendously sad and unnecessary event. He was a wonderful, humble, talented young man, and had a huge life in front of him. Obviously God had other plans."There seemed to be some encouraging signs yesterday after Taylor squeezed a nurse's hand, but the good news was short-lived. Taylor didn't make it through the night.
A daughter is left without a father, and a family is broken up. Redskins receiver James Thrash attempts to give the world a glimpse of what it will now be without.
"From the first day I met him, from then to now, it's just like night and day. He's really got his head on his shoulders and has been doing really well as far as just being a man. It's been awesome to see that growth."Quotes like that make Taylor's death even harder to fathom. It's such a shame. Such a tragedy. So senseless.

Regardless of what Mr. Sean Taylor might have done in the past, this is a moment where we share our thoughts for appreciation of what this man has done for us all. The show that he put on during his games in high school, college, and pro football is what is important. Negative things that he had come in contact with in the past are not what you talk about when there is a lost for family, friends, and fans.

To the family of Sean Taylor. My heart goes out to you. I had the honor of having Sean stay at our house when he came to Key West to visit my brother Colton "Bubba" Butler. We had such a good time together. Sean was a great person and so full of life. He was like part of our family. He will be missed in our lives. To the family, god saw him getting tired when a cure was not to be, he came and stood beside him, and whispered come to me. With tear filled eyes you watched him fade away, although you loved him dearly, you could not make him stay, a heart of gold stop beating, his tired hands at rest, god broke your hearts to prove to all of us, he only takes the best. May you find some comfort in your time of lost. The Butler Family, Key West, Florida.

Awful, just awful!! A young man who was growing up quickly and had so much of him. Terrible tragedy! I hope they get the individuals who did this and give them their justice. It is never worth killing someone for material things without dire consequences. What goes around, comes around!

Do me a favor James, now is not the time for negative and/or prejudicial comments. A wife lost her husband and a daughter lost her father today...

I know it's minor, but please get the man's memory right. He and his girlfriend were not married, but they were a family.
James, that's downright tasteless. He left his thug-life behind when his daughter was born. I'm glad he was able to redeem his life before it ended.

Just because someone goes to the University of Miami, it doesn't automatically make them a thug.

James...you are one sick, demented human(?) being
who's soul is seared by anger towards yourself
and consequetly others. You need serious professional
help. Your comments are senseless and lacking any
decency. People like yourself face a very dim
future and your life will pass by and be defined
as a total waste. You're pathetic to the max.

I could be way off base but I don't think this was a home invasion. The knife on the bed and the fact that he was shot in the groin area make me think it was a revenge killing. Jilted Lover or jealous boyfriend of a lover gets my vote as suspect.

James, it is not appropriate to make remarks like that at this time. However, when things like this happen, we need to take stock in our own lives, and in particular, what we can learn from tragedies like this. God bless Sean and his family. May we all take lessons from this, and not gloss them over and continue to learn nothing.
