Packers quarterback Brett Favre is out with an apparent elbow injury, but never fear, Packers fans: Your team is just fine without Favre. Backup Aaron Rodgers, the 2005 first-round draft pick who has never had an opportunity to showcase his considerable talents, has replaced Favre in the lineup, and he's having a spectacular outing. When he was first thrown in there he struggled, but as soon as he got his bearings he began to take over the game.
After completing just one of his first four passes, for three yards, Rodgers' numbers are currently 11-of-14 for 130 yards and a touchdown, with no interceptions. He has also had an eight-yard run and a nine-yard run, both of which picked up first downs.
With Rodgers running the show, the Packers have scored 14 unanswered points to pull the game to 27-24 in the third quarter.

I could only view this game by pc, watching a football move back and forth. But, why in the world did the Packers throw short passes up the middle with 1 minute remaining????????

Aaron Rodgers did a great job. Nobody is going to replace Favre but Rogers put on a great performance. The day is coming when Favre will hang up the cleats and I feel better knowing Rogers can get the job done. After all he does have an MVP teacher to show him the ropes!

No one can replace the best quarterback ever in the game of football. However, Brett won't be playing this game forever. Rogers did a very good job and, I'm sure will get more opportunity to do more. Good job, Aaron. Go Packers!
Cowboys are so into themselves that they aren't like real people. Sorry, Rusty, Cowboys just suck.

How many second string QBs playing behind Brett have gone on to have really good careers in the NFL? Is it coincidence or so they learn a lot about the position and how it should be played? It is refreshing to see a guy who enjoys the game as much and can still get it done after so many great years in the league. And it is good to know he has another protege in the wings.
