The game began with two 5-7 teams fighting for their playoff hopes led two young quarterbacks who've had some rough times of late. It ended with the Redskins still afloat at 6-7 and both teams losing their starting quarterbacks (who were former SEC players) and being led by former Michigan guys.
Chicago lost Rex Grossman early to a nasty knee injury when he was hit by Cornelius Griffin. Grossman left and Brian Griese finished off the game.
Next, Jason Campbell left not once, but twice. He was hit in his right elbow, which caused it to go numb. He eventually came back into the game ... and on his third play back was hit in the knee, causing his kneecap to pop out. (That hurt just typing that). Todd Collins, who hadn't completed a pass since 2004, came on strong. He completed 15 of 20 passes for 224 yards and two TDs.
Later on, Bears tackle Antonio Garay was hurt on a very questionable Chris Samuels block; Clinton Portis left briefly with a stomach ailment; Fred Smoot missed most of the second half because of his back; Chris Cooley left briefly with a shin injury.
The game ball goes to the Redskins secondary. Not only have they been beaten up anyways, the loss of Sean Taylor has forced the team to have to move guys around (rookie LaRon Landry takes over the free safety role). Washington consistently blitzed Chicago, leaving the cornerbacks basically naked out there and they came up huge.
The Redskins won this game despite rushing for just 31 yards ... the lowest in a Washington win since 1974. The Bears couldn't run the ball either, amassing just 60 yards.
Chicago looked stank out there. Whenever they could get something going, they'd screw it up. Whether it was delay of game penalties or false starts, the offense looked out of rhythm. The momentum shifted late in the first half as Griese threw an interception deep in Redskins territory, which Shawn Springs then returned it deep into Chicago territory. The Redskins scored a TD on the very next play.
Chicago is now 5-8 and realistically out of the playoff race, meaning we will have a new NFC champion.

Oh, there was a game on last night? Who watches NFL Network, let alone the Redskins and Bears? Enough of Shawn Taylor. He was just another thug/athlete like Mike Vick.

CHICAGO IS A PAIN TO WATCH THEY ARE PENALTY PRONE TEAM...THEIR HEADS ARE BRAINLESS. NEED MORE SMART PLAYERS THAN BRAWN. NEED A NEW APPROACH TO GAMES AND THROW OUT THOSE PLAYBOOKS...NEED NEW GAME PLANS AND COACHES.

Where to start with the Bears? The offensive line is awful. How many false start penalties? No running game. The coaching sucks too: 1st and goal at the 1yd line and they lose 3yds on a running play. They call a play with the inside guard pulling. What? The DT are exploding forward in a goal line D, so of course the DT blows up the play through the vacant gap. Also, 4th and 1 with a minutes to go down 11. You need a FG anyway--kick here! Instead QB sneak the runs down 21 seconds. 2 plays later they have to take the FG anyway. Lovie sucks. Ron Turner REALLY sucks. Bears O-line is the worst I've seen in a long time

Congratulations on the win Redskins! Even though there should have been one or two fines and or suspensions handed out in this game. It's probably a good thing the league feels sorry for you right now or the gloves would come off. With all the talent that Washington has had on defense, you'd think they would be able to completely shut down Rex Grossman and the "weak" Bears. Have you ever wondered why the Redskins ALWAYS have injuries problems? The team looks out of shape most of the time. The answer: a lack of physical conditioning. Nuff said!
